Great video man. I was looking for a video on how to replace these cables because my horizontal cable snapped and left me stranded haha. i'm pretty sure this is the only vid on 9th gen civics.

I totally didn't think about doing a video till I was already into the job. Hopefully I explained enough to help you do it yourself! If you have any questions I'll try my best to help! Thanks!

What did you do with the rubber grommet that’s on the stock cables?
@Puga515
Жыл бұрын
The grommet that goes thru the floor/tunnel into the cabin? I took a razor blade and made to cuts straight down to the cables and transferred over to new cables.

My mechanic just installed this cable and short shifter from hr for me and since then it’s been making a scratchy noise that a heat shield would make. He said there’s nothing that would fix that because the noise is coming from the cable and shifter itself because it’s all hard and no bushings in it. It’s just direct metal to metal. Have you experienced this? I wonder if he missed a step when installing it for me.

No issues here. I wonder if something is causing it to bind up and cause a noise? Hope you get it figured out!

@@Puga515 my mechanic and second opinion said they bushings was metal to metal causing friction vs the oem rubbery bushings.. I end up switching them back to oem cable and issue disappeared. Bummer.
