It's impossible to drive the 6.4L Scat Pack and not smile like a 7-year-old on Christmas morning. The exhaust note and power are just too fun and cool. And the leather seats and leather-wrapped steering wheel -- great bonuses.

Hey man I own a 2015 Scat Pack that looks just like the one here, with red seats, and let me tell you: get the scat pack. Everywhere I go (especially on a nice day when she's newly washed) I get thumbs ups, people always stare at the car as I drive by, and it's a damn fun car. I was debating on the new Camaro as well, but those things are just way too common to attract any attention at all whatsoever! Challenger's are just rare enough that whenever someone sees my car, it's always a spectacle. Now, if you DON'T want the attention it'd bring, then get the Camaro. You'd just blend in a bit more. Anyways, great vid.

RP, I've been planning on buying a 2016 Challenger R/T Scat Pack for over 6 months, about a month away from ordering(May 2016). Your video is, along with Blake's review, are two of my favorite Challenger scat pack review videos on KZitem. Your 2nd gear pull and statement, "........oh, man, this car is stupid fast!" was about the best comment I've heard. I will also echo others in the fact that I could tell immediately your elation over the scat pack and how you seemed almost hum-drum in the Camaro SS. I really don't think that the interior on the Camaro even remotely compares to the Challenger. Dodge hit it out of the park with the Scat Pack interior, especially over the previous Challenger generation. Nice job, can't wait to see the first drive video of your new Challenger!

The thing that amazes me about people... this company took a bailout from the US government, is owned by FIAT (foreign company) and makes this car in Canada and IMPORTS it INTO the US, not "Imported from Detroit" like the ridiculous TV ads say, yet people will still buy this "American" hot rod car and still think they are buying/driving an American car. My Toyota truck was made in Texas for christ's sake. Being from Detroit and having lived there in my youth and seeing the TOTAL BEATING that Detroit took from companies like Chrysler leaving the area and moving production to Mexico and Canada, this makes me sick.

@txmetalcobra

not if the manufacturer calls for it. Premium is a higher octane which takes longer to ignite and cause combustion. If you have a car that calls for premium gas you better put it in or your going to have pre-detination issues( engine knock). That's not good for the engine. So no, premium is not a scam. There is an actual reason it exist.

The new 8 spd auto trans is flat out awesome. WOT shifts are spot on, and fast...as in 180 m/s fast. I don't care how good you are at banging gears, the new A8 is faster. The trans also makes it a LOT easier to put the power down. Want control of the shifting, slide the shifter to Manual mode, and have fun with the paddles.

+gblikesnikes Haha yes. It's an R/T Scat Pack with the same 6.4L engine from the SRT's. The brakes, suspension, and several other smaller components are slightly upgraded in the SRT as compared to the Scat Pack.

Scat Pack Shaker maybe. I was 42K OTD for mine with the appearance and technology package for a '16. Kind of depends on his location and credit though. At 24, that might not be unreasonable. I'm 34 for reference and bought mine overseas via Military Auto Source... saved maybe $2K off of sticker.

youre going to want the scat pack appearance package.... bee logo stitched in the seats, and the rear stripe alone is worth it. Also, I know its technically slower, but go with the 6 speed manual. Its a blast and honestly with this car's torque, even a "noob" can drive it.

Can anyone comment on, how much difference is it driving this car compare to a 2005 Toyota Camry? Is the fuel mileage relative?

Taheel Jagun you would feel like you are driving a rocket compared to the Camry. And you would be seeing the pumps a lot more especially because you would probably be driving a lot differently.

I own the R/T, a 2015 in B5 Blue. I currently have 65,000 miles on it as it is my commuter. (it is currently May 2018) WHEN DRIVEN CONSERVATIVELY, I get 27 MPG most of the time and for 13 tankfuls, I have gotten 28 MPG. Twice I have gotten 29. The 345 (5.7L) has MDS, meaning it shuts off 4 cylinders, not just the fuel, but it closes and leaves closed the valves. transitions are seamless between 4 and 8. 28 can be done but no city. But it takes a conscious effort to ignore Mustangs and Cameros revving on you as they pass. If I WANT to, I do have a 75 HP shot of nitrous but use that very seldom. They are great cars! The only drawback,compared to a generic vanilla box... oops, sorry I meant to say Camery is it, is a 2 door. Some sacrifices must be made.

sure its on the heavy side but the scat pack and up does a good job of hiding its weight. The only short coming I found on mine were those skinny 245s dodge decided to pair with a 485 hp V8. A set of 19x10 wheels wrapped in 285s on all four corners solved that issue. Haven't got a chance to test them at a HPDE yet (just autox), but even with the the skinny rubber i was hanging with the best of them. Can't wait till april when track night america comes back.

Why do people scold others that choose to drive automatic cars? Don't get me wrong I want to get a manual for my first car but I wouldn't mind driving an automatic if I had to. Im just wondering why people get so much shit/hate if they choose an automatic over a manual, like, it's their preference.

I would love one.. if I lived in flat lands. But up here in the mountains we don't have many long straights. In the twisty winding corners roads, these things are a tank.
