There's an option to change the number of "favorites" that are displayed on the Infotainment screen. It's in under "Settings" and "Radio". If you change the number of favorites to just a single row on the bottom, you'll see all the displayed information clearly without anything overlapping each other. Then, you can swipe left or ride to get to all the other "Favorites", or you can swipe up, and it will display all the favorites.

If the running boards disturb you that much unbolt them and install an electric retracting system, amp research for example, did it on my 2015 Sierra 1500. The one thing those runnig boards really help with is as a door stop in parking lots when twits swing their doors open, the running board prevents panel damage to your truck....That said, like the duramax, may have to make a switch in the future.

I think this is a good video, nothing was misstated. I will say that Chad made a bigger deal out of the pedals and running boards than I do (I own this truck), but that's subjective anyway. It is a royal pain to park in ramps with that longer wheel base (I traded from a '14 Tundra), but it is possible if you have command of the truck. Oh, and the first time you take it into a 6'-8" ramp will pucker you up. For me, the sacrifice in ride quality was a good trade for the ridiculous towing capability. I also get 17-18 mpg mixed driving at an average of 36 mph, which is far better than my Tundra did. Towing is exactly what Chad said at 11-12.

+chad haire So, in your opinion having drove different makes and models, highlighting different points in each video that not everyone thinks about i.e gas and brake pedal distance which do you feel is currently the best light duty truck for the money?
@chadhaire1711
8 жыл бұрын
+1Ezk There are no good or bad trucks just good or bad options for the intended purpose. HOWEVER: If you want reliability Toyota Tundra is the pick. If you want a big $5-10K bargain discount RAM is the way to go. Ford F-150 is too new, so I am waiting to see. GM drives nice and has the best interiors but Consumer reports has reported repair issues that need to be looked into. Myself? Just give me the Toyota Tacoma 4x4 TRD double cab. I just did a video on one that was $40,000 but you can't beat the quality and off-road ability even if the price is crazy. I really don't need a bigger truck. But if I did one full size I was impressed with was the Dodge RAM double cab with V-6 that had plenty of power, and got 18/24 mpg with a $30,000 sticker. The dealer was discounting them at $24,000--a bargain indeed.

Good review! That is exactly the mileage my 07 LMM is getting in those same scenarios. After tuning and emission deletes I expect a 3-4 mpg increase. You say the diesel is only worth it for towing, but don't you think they're a lot nicer to drive around unloaded too? I would much rather drive my Duramax than the same size truck with almost half the power known as a gasser. JMO.
@chadhaire1711
9 жыл бұрын
The diesel engine costs about $9K more than the big gas engine, so no I don't think it's a good idea if no towing is done as $9K can buy a lot of gas for a non diesel. Also that big 2500 chassis and stiff suspension is a nightmare non paved roads, as the impacts with an empty bed will knock the fillings out of your teeth. Not for 4x4 off roading! But if you can afford it well go for it......
@powpirate
9 жыл бұрын
chad haire I agree with you that towing is for sure where diesel trucks shine, however there must be some need for a big truck if a person is to get even just a gas 2500HD, because after all they are not small trucks either.. Yes the diesel costs 9K more in the first place, but I believe you get it back when you sell it. I sure would have paid a LOT less for my truck if it was a gasser. (Recently bought it used) I also believe the suspension is the same for a 2500HD gasser is it not? I'm not entirely sure on that one.. I think you end up paying going in to or getting out of a truck depending on if it's gas or diesel. Soon my truck will do approx. 24mpg highway(empty), have 5 tunes switchable on the fly and over 500 reliable hp for not a lot of extra investment. My work truck is a gasser and it has been a great truck, but the 2 can't be compared. To each their own.. I guess that's why they make gassers too. Just verbalizing my logic, or maybe it's horsepower justification, haha! :)
@chadhaire1711
9 жыл бұрын
powpirate The suspension packs can tow from 14k to 23K and come with either engine--the gas has more horsepower at 420 if i remember.

It's frustrating, I don't need a 2500, but I want to buy an American made GM truck. I wish GM would build their 1500 in the USA. Not that the 1500s are bad just cause they're made in Mexico, but with this large of a purchase I would rather support American workers. I know, I know.....still doesn't stop me from shopping at walmart though. And I'm just not a ford or ram guy.

It's a shame all the advertising about trucks is about how much they can hold, pull, or ride in deep mud. How about all of us that just love to own and drive trucks instead of cars. Much as I'm not a Dodge fan, they are addressing this segment of the market. I hope GMC catches up! I'd rather have a 250 hp Duramax v8 in a 1500 instead of a 397 hp Duramax in a 2500.

from my knowledge, the 1500's can be the same size if you get the full 4 door crew cab with the 6.5ft truck bed...if you get an extended cab with a 6.5 bed, then it will be shorter...the actual lengths are in the specs of the trucks on the truck brand web site.

They were about the too small glove box, loud door chime, and ill places pedals. Why? because the glove box is too small, the chime is too loud, and the pedals are poorly placed. That is what we do in a truck review--we review the truck. Duh. 3. I said the truck was a good bargain, a lot for the money--that must have been the part where you passed out drinking that cheap Canadian brew! 4. Like I said-"play it again Sam". 90% liked the video--you are outvoted
