This is exactly what I needed. Mentioning that banging on it as a way to diagnose it was VERY VERY helpful

My fan sometimes blows fast but sometimes blows even faster, could some paper or something obstruct the ducts? I checked the fan from where the cabin filter is but couldn't find anything

Not me buying the part, removing the old one, and finding a receipt in it, reinstalling the old one and it working perfectly 😂

where was the receipt? on top of the fan or inside duct? I think i have the same issue, i had a bunch of papers and i think one went inside the thing
@AmericanShiba

@@theblukatlifeIt was inside the fan, if you have return air on, it could have got sucked up into the blower motor easily. Just remove it and you’ll find it in there. The receipt probably fell from the glove box to behind it and ended up getting sucked up into the blower motor.

Technical talk that is... My main problem is, disconnecting the white wires. Mine look normal but are really tight or something. And the blue and red wires won't come out. And my bolts are actually 10mm even though I also have 2015 Toyota Corolla. But I'm only able to find one of the bolts that hold the blower fan. Been out here for over an hour and still can't get the dang thing out ha! Oh yeah! I had actually disconnected the battery plugs so I probably wouldn't have to disconnect as many wires but it's still a pain!

On a side note... you shouldn't talk bad about the aftermarket parts being bad or a waste of time .... when the factory part failed on a fairly new car! Other than that.. the video was spot on with the diagnosis & replacement of the blower motor.

You absolutely have a point with the factory part failing so soon, Ive had really bad luck with most aftermarket parts, some certain brands are not good , and there are a couple brands that I really like.

Tapping it didn't work on mine. It was pulsating or vibrating when I was touching it. I just forgot where the bolts were and came here. Thanks.

Could this also be the problem if the fan speed only works on speed 1 and 2?
@drewsshoplife

Usually that would be in the controller or likely the blower motor resistor. The motor may be drawing excessive current damaging the resistor.
