great video! I saw a trick in another video if the hairpin isn't facing the right direction. On the head of the pin there is a phillips head screw head, you just get a phillips head screwdriver and turn the pin until the hairpin is in the right direction....

For first timers, do not do this. You will destroy your rotors with screw drivers. This guy is new to this

Yes I am using a screwdriver I will stick the screwdriver in between the rotor and pad but if you will notice I am not pushing the screwdriver into the rotor I am using the rotor as a pivot point if you are really concerned about the rotor then you should replace it

two screw drivers to push the pistons back and a good way to scratch or gouge rotors.

Nice video. I thought you always have to resurface the disc when you change the pads?

If the rotors look pretty good and the customer doesn’t want to spend the money then it’s a pad slap I would recommend replacing rotors because the cooling fins in the rotors fill up with rust and do not cool properly

Only suggestion is to open the bleed valve on caliper when you push the calipers

Good suggestion, sometimes the bleeders are frozen or broken if you do get them loose remove them and put some antiseize on the threads

those 18mm caliper bolts on my 2017 Colorado are 59 lb ft + 30-45 turn according to GM. Dang is the 2016 really 135 lb ft on those bolts?

If you use a wire brush to scrub the brake cylinder, wouldn’t the rubber seal break from the scrubbing of the wire brush?

Man what the fuhk. I got a 2017 and just bought some pads for her. This looks way difficult. Didnt know the pin had to be free and loose. I thought the calipers and rotors set them free while driving to the pins likeness
