The '74 Wolfpack was the team that pulled the sword from the stone after so many others failed to beat UCLA. They carried the hopes of the nation, except Bruin nation. And they were fun to watch. They had players with extraordinary leaping, height, lack of height, and daring. Loved those guys!

I was 16 years old growing up in Southern Pines, NC. That was my team! I bragged to all my friends who were Dean Smith UNC fans. Phuck Duke. They weren't relevant in the early and mid 1970s. The only two teams that worried me in 1974 was UCLA and Lefty Driesel's Maryland Terrapins. Ah...great memories.
