The Rennicks complement each other's writing so well between front ensemble and battery. Musicality is always abound with SCV Percussion!

I put this right up there wil the situation in 2012 at the Sacramento Moonlight Classic when SCV, BD and Phantom didn't get to perform at Sac State because the organization couldn't get the stadium lights turned on. Each corps went to their buses and put on a full-show standstill. I will never forget the face-melting performance of Music Of The Starry Night in my face, in the dark. And then they add Send In The Clowns! Holy crap!

Absolutely amazing. SCV always blows me away. I had the opportunity to have a clinic with Paul Rennick, and his style was just incredible. The two of them have such _musical_ and _melodic_ writing, especially where don't expect it.

This is probably the most interesting thing I've watched drum-corps-wise in quite a while. Who actually produced this? Was this commissioned by the Rennicks? Just BRILLIANT!
@usee2020

I recorded and produced the video. Thank you for the kind words! I started doing these end-of-the-season percussion recordings in 2006 when Paul Rennick was the caption head at Phantom Regiment. They set aside a rehearsal block during Finals week to do the recording, and then I spend the next 6-9 months putting it together. I'm an optometrist, and this is strictly a spare time hobby. Glad you enjoyed it!

Not at this time. That first year was a far cry from what we do now. Only one run of the show in standstill with two HDV camcorders and a DV camcorder. I'll get around to putting that up one of these days.

this show* doesnt get enough love. the interplay from the front to battery was so nice to the ears
Interesting to see the center marimba player using Burton grip in her right hand and Stevens in her left. Thought at first maybe it had something to do with the writing - perhaps quick small to large interval changes in the left hand or something - but she's still playing that way at the very end when they're just playing quick runs with the inner mallets. To each their own, and she's obviously made it work for her, but I've never seen someone combine grips like that.

The marimbas (and other keyboards) are from Bergerault (France), which partnered with Dynasty through 2018. Bergerault is now affiliated with Tama. Dynasty has a new line of concert percussion that has been designed in consultation with the Rennicks and will debut at PASIC this month - look for them on the field with SCV in 2020!
