Очень интересно. Отработка искуственного интелекта для беспилотного авто, да ещё оформленная в виде молодёжного соревнования. Проводить мероприятия можно в любых областях любой страны, ненужно собирать особые группы, результативность увеличится в разы. Хороший метод, грамотный подход.

At the left hand side of the running direction, those are prompts for curvature changes, and those prompts at the right hand side are for start and stop.

It follow the white line as a guide. And the markers on one side are turn que. Notice how at first run the robot ride slow - it analyzing the markers and curve. Basically it ID every marker, and record the turn radius. Once it's done it analyze how fast it can go on each section it had mapped out. Pretty complex tech.

This looks more like a single slot car track for doing time trials then a robot tracing track. Probably the high vantage point of the camera is the problem.

Смысл не в самих гонках, сколько в умении прогармировать, создавать или использовать электронные компоненты, научить машину создавать алгоритм вычисления траэктории, а потом вычислять максимальную скорость что можно допустить на каждом отрезке. Тоесть соревнование между умельцами кто может сделать наибыструю в плане вычисления электронику и механику. А это очень не просто. Это потенциал в роботостроении.

Not at all if you understand in technology and complexity of the micro-processing of those robots. Considering these guys making their own robot and tracing program that first run it learns the track and calculates the algorythm, and on second run able to figure out how fast it can go on particular location.
