I had a notification show up on the screen that said "Maintenance required for hybrid battery cooling parts at your dealer". So I did a little research and the only information I found was for older cars, and nothing for the 2016+ Prius. It's a simple solution: clean or replace the filter for the hybrid batter fan located under the rear passenger seat. I cleaned the filter and the notification cleared itself after a couple of hours. Just to be safe, I ordered a new filter from Toyota for $18. Make sure your cabin filter is also clean. My cabin filter had been replaced not long ago, but never this filter. What's interesting is that the car has been back to Toyota several times for repairs and/or maintenance and it was never brought up in any inspection report or as an upsell. If you don't have dirty kids in the backseat yours might last forever, but all in all, I'm impressed mine lasted 72,000 miles with how dirty my kids shoes can be!
