2016 Volkswagen Golf GTI review - first impressions (POV). For more information head over performancedriv... The full review will be live soon at performancedriv...
I just bought the US version of the GTI Autobahn and while I generally love it, my biggest complaint is that it has too much torque with front wheel drive for the tires they spec. My car came with Bridgestone Potenza AS and while they are known long tread-life, they are prone to under-steering quite a bit. They also spin too easily when you accelerate hard. Interestingly though, braking is superb. I also find the ride quality even in comfort mode a bit harder than I would like, but it is a sporty car so I can overlook that.

DSG performs well, but reliability is quite an issue if you don't drive it properly. I think it's best to go manual, unless you buy a dsg GTI new, so you know how it's driven.

Sure, its actually a common thing owners miss! DSGs actually need to be driven a certain way (not like an auto) to prevent shuddering or break downs. I bookmarked the article if you guys want it , it opens your eyes and makes you realise why there's so many "problems" with the DSG. It's just that people don't drive them properly!!

links are a bit weird on youtube, so type in to google like "how to drive a dsg properly" and click the "VWVortex - How to Play and Win the DSG game" forum link. It's a massive informative post someone made how to drive a dsg properly, read it and bookmark it too.

Own a MK5 GTI with DSG currently has +150000km and it's been running like new since 2008... Same goes for my 2015 MK7 GTI.. Both these cars are tuned and driven hard too

12.5L/100km is a good looking number to me for driving it hard, I struggle to get 15L in the old LS1 round town.

Im really stuck wether to get the manual or DSG. I dont mind changing gears but this would be a nice change. I think it might get a bit boring not having to change gears thou.. Any replies will be appreciated

Boy they need to refresh that interior. Very early 2000's design.

They have a classic look but feel great. Some modern interiors are too busy. That being said, the interior is getting a huuge update later this year, or early 2017.

It doesn't feel like an old interior when you're actually in the car
