Just starting tenor I think I've been playing for around 3 weeks now and my goal is to start learning this started about 10 min and know the first 2 measures you're way of teaching is really easy to follow and helps a lot!

Thanks! Those are great suggestions, but I'm limited to what's on lothype for the moment (have to work on my transcribing skills)

Mannn why didn't you do the finals week one
@theTenorDrummer
3 жыл бұрын
Main reason was I didn’t like how they wrote out the septuplet. Anything specific giving you trouble with it?
@nephaelom

Is this the final version or did they change it to this, or is the transcription wrong.

This was mid-season, they had a slightly different version finals week

Yep, Kuhn, Mike McIntosh, and Cavie quad vets/techs Jim Bailey and Dave Schmuck. I’m just regurgitating their genius

@@theTenorDrummer I meant your actual voice sounds like Kuhns. I didn’t mean you were regurgitating them haha. I was taught by Kuhn & Mac at Bluecoats. Also Candy was the bass tech when I was at coats. I think he aged out on bass 4 at cavs in 02. I was also taught by Jim Bailey at i2 indoor.

@@nilesabel7279 haha, I thought that might have been what you meant. When did you march Bluecoats and i2? A lot of my Illini Drumline friends marched i2 in ‘04 or ‘05
@nilesabel7279

@@theTenorDrummer I marched snare at Bluecoats in 2007 & 2008. I marched i2 their inaugural year and final year 😂 2005 & 2007. I also marched 2001-2005 Capital Regiment. Center snare of Magic of Orlando in 2006. And Rhythm X 2008 & 2009. I bet I know a decent amount of guys you marched with. Those i2 lines had a lot of cavalier/illini guys in them and teaching them.

New to your channel. I like how you broke down their solo down to the point of taking out the diddles etc.etc. and to get the basic sticking first. Great idea. However, while they are great players, as a tenor drummer, I CAN NOT STAND to hear inadvertent rim or stick hits unless written into the music. Unfortunately for the BD here, they had six or so. Clean that crap up!
@theTenorDrummer

Haha, yeah, in their defense, it was midseason and they ended up watering down some of the motion for finals. Tough lick!
@JohnSmith-zi9or

@@theTenorDrummer That happens. You have to ask yourself is the risk of playing something so difficult worth it? Slowed down a little bit it wouldn't be a problem. But at that speed ... whew!
