I think your fix is "safer" than the TSB and actually addresses the root cause...

The mechanism doesn't notice little fingers however. My daughter put her hand in the way just right as the door was closing. Luckily I was there and immediately grabbed the handle to open it back. Just a quick pinch and she was ok.

Good save. Yes, there are still a lot of pinch point where little fingers can get hurt. Hopefully the motor overload would trip before severe damage but I don’t want to see that tested.

I’ve had my Pacifica for a few years now with all its failures. I have found the best solution was to get rid of the piece of shit a never buy a Chrysler again. That’s seems to have done the trick

My dad just asked me to look up some solutions. His door been having that problem so long that now the door isn’t even half way closing & opening back up it’s just stuck wide open press the button all it does it beep but won’t move I still suggested him the idea of going out to buy some silicone spray hope it works for him

Since it’s happening before closing it does seem more likely to be something with the roller or drive mechanism. I’ll poke around some more and see if it warrants an updated video.

I wonder if a dry film lube like my Audi uses on the moonroof would be longer lasting. The stuff reminds me of the dry lube lube I use on my MTB chain. I might get this and try it on my van - B'laster Dry Lube is formulated with Teflon Fluoropolymer,

Do you have any information on how to address a Pacifica sliding door which beeps three times, but won’t open or close?
@TheLawnEngineer
Жыл бұрын
Yes, it sounds like the door's control module needs to be reset. A dealer can do this or you can take power off of the module for a few minutes. To take power off the module, you can disconnect the negative battery cable for a few minutes or pull the fuse for the power doors. The fuse block is under the hood on the drivers side. If you take the top off the fuse block they're on labels on the inside of the top. There will be one for each "sliding door module." Remove the fuse for a few minutes and then put it back in place, try the door.

Ok so I have a 2017 as well and we have had this problem a lot as well as the door not opening when you use the handle button, key fob or the interior button. With some error message say no power and to open manually. Any ideas on the not opening issue? Dealer has looked at it before said they could find anything wrong and now to look at it want $197 just to look at it.

I would try the silicone on the weather stripping and lubricating all of the moving parts. Parts of the door could be sticking closed and giving the door motor and over-torque error.

I never had a problem with that but i would lubricate the hinges and silicone the weatherstripping. Unfortunately, the linear actuators also go bad on the lift gates.

@@FixitMys3lf I don't have much experience with the back but it sounds like something is binding or the actuator is going bad. Before doing anything, you can try to disconnect the battery for the a few minutes...apparently the control modules reset and it might help.
