I rode this bike yesterday and really enjoyed it, It's really a bargain for the price!

Perhaps the vibration comes from the piston firing 3inches below your butt? This vibration defines the soul of a bike. Learn to ride it. Learn to love it. This bike is "the" bike! The bike us poor boys lust for. If you have the readies you will find a passion hidden inside, just wait to emerge. Let it go and you never know the joy.

Dallas Cuthbertson it's funny because my tiger is a Triple and is one of the most refined machines I've ever ridden. That opinion is purely subjective so if you like vibes and raw natured bikes then absolutely go for a Ducati!

I just rode mine for a straight 462 miles of highway through the tunnel in Boston, the New Hampshire mountains and back and did not feel any annoying vibes. Perhaps because mine is white, mabe the red ones vibrate more. But seriously it's my favorite bike to date and I've had many bikes over the years.

I traded my Triumph sprint st for my Multistrada 1200 and I will never look back. I have a mivv pipe and a tune, and I will say its a lot of power. Around town its in urban mode then open roads sport or touring. its really comfortable sounds awesome and has more power then I will ever need. if I was to purchase now I would get the 950 put a mivv full system on with an auto tunerand be done. GET THE DUCATI!!!

!. The engine is brand new. It's still tight. Engine parts have to polish in. I think after a few thousand miles or less that engine will smooth out and purr. 2. It's a V Twin, (OK, L Twin), you don't have to wring it's neck when shifting. 3. Do it! It looks like a keeper! I just purchased a 2017 FJ-09. I wish I would have seen the Multistrada 950 before I bought the FJ. Good video.

I've had the Tiger XRx. I found the front suspension very harsh and so does a lot of other XR riders. Do yourself a favor and test ride the XCx model before you buy. The XCx has the WP suspension and well worth the little bit extra. My 2 cents.

Ducati is a state of mind, not a regular smooth bike. If you dont like to feel the power, the hot seat and the vibrations you are not a "Ducatista" . Always Ducati ;)

Hello MotoChooch, I have already tried this bike and I loved it. I put it on my list of the next purchase. Truly the heat in the seat does not bother. what if I have seen that the digital dashboard dances with the vibrations....hahaha ..... and the engine heats up a lot but I do not care ... this Ducati is very good motorbike ......

MotoChooch Thanks for the reply dude. I think you've got a great voice for vlogging (clear, and enthusiastic), and you clearly did your research before recording. Lots of good info about the bike, and felt like I learned a good bit about the bike before riding. I've been a little torn between this and the 12. This sounds like it's as fun as the STR for less money than the 12. Good sound too. Hope to see more reviews from you. Cheers.

Sniffing Swede for the price I would go with the Tiger 800 XRT. That's my next bike. A lot more creature comforts and much more refined. Not as powerful but still plenty and the torque is really good. Triumph has those Triple engines just so well tuned. Check out my first ride if you want to see REAL enthusiasm!

wI'm MotoChooch Will do. I'm still after that "ultimate power thrill" though, and would still take that 0.1% of the time insane power hit for 0.01 practicality rather than 0% power hit but practicality (my VFR is a bad sportsbike, and a worse tourer ). Hence why I'm still set on the 1200s Multi, as it seems to offer everything,

MotoChooch, first, thanks for the review. I'm also considering this bike either as a trade up from a 15' Ninja 650 or a second bike, but given the cost of the Ducati most likely I'd only have one bike. I think you should have ridden this bike on the highway to see if the vibrations mellow out and to see the bike dynamics on the highway. I think this bike would really fit the "only" bike role since it has got 113hp (and 75hp mode), seriously, how much horsepower does one need? Anyway, good luck!

Fredo C thank you! This bike just wasn't even a contender once I rode the Tiger 800 XRT. So much more refined and you get a lot more for your money. Not as powerful but still plenty. You should check it out! I did a first ride review and loved it so much I'm trading in for one in July/August.

I just watched another review of the 950, this one came out of Australia and there were many positive similarities between his review and yours. However, he highly regarded the "urban" mode for city riding, in fact he said it was basically outstanding yet I don't recall you putting your bike in this mode and all of your riding would have qualified for the urban mode I would think.

Too bad you couldn't take that puppy up into the foothills, but where can you find a foothill in Dallas Tx? I vote for the Ducati 950 and I agree that in most cases the 950 satisfies performance requirements while the bigger version is simply overkill. I think to fully appreciate and I think you hinted on this when you commented on the flickability of the bike is to take it where it shines, the mountains or any curvy road environment. I'm a little biased having in the past the 900SS, 916, 999S, 1100 MTS and currently an 03 999R Ducati. At this stage of my riding career I would never get another sport bike because they limit you to a distance radius that I call the "two hour butt". I also have a Harley Road King and I never thought I would ever buy a Harley, but I wanted something to do the long ride, but I miss the ability to carve curvy roads and have the confidence underneath me to do it. I believe after seeing your review, the 950 might just be the ideal all around bike, in my case at least. However, the deal breaker on my old model Multistrada was wind blast, I could never resolve it whereas on the Harley with fork wind deflectors and a much bigger windshield, the problem doesn't exist. Thanks for taking the time to give us an overview (sans the hills) of the bike.

Are you looking for a starter adventure bike? If so, I recommend the Kawasaki Versys 650 or maybe the Suzuki V-Strom. The Ducati Multistrada 950 will be a bit much IMO.
@trer1969

@@MotoChooch I totally agree...the Multistrada 950 will get you in serious trouble as a starter bike...waaaaaaaaaay too much power for a new rider. I've been riding for 40 years with a background in motocross when I was a kid, and my 2017 Multistrada 950 is really all the bike I need. The acceleration is mind-boggeling, and the overall performance is not for the inexperienced...it is a wicked bike. If you are generally new to riding, work your way up to it...MotoChooch is dead on, check out the Versys or the V-Strom, or better yet the Honda NX 700 as a starter bike. You will get the adventure bike riding experience without the mind-warping, and likely dangerous, power of the Ducati.

Agree with your observations. I sold my 2013 multi due to vibes. Thought about a DVT since they brag about the smooth down low. Sadly the DVT is worse on vibes than the pre DVT. I am not going to pay 20k for a bike that scrambles my balls. The cool Duc shit wears off after you ride it a while.

Spode review. Spode riding....Vibration, that’s the motor. The clutch is CABLE, not hydraulic. Honda 700 ? RUFKM ? You should buy that bike. Keep the day job. Vibrate? Ride any inline four. That’s vibration. You did not find neutral. The bike up shifts on over rev...Lost me at vibration.

Something you can install to flash the headlights on and off. It's federally legal as a safety device to be seen by drivers who may otherwise be distracted.
