So what would happen is after this vehicle with warm up a little bit it would start vibrating and shuttering a little bit at about 20 to 35 Mi an hour just on Tippin barely hitting the gas so the torque converter with delaminating on coming apart inside or something else was going on and when we seen the color of the fluid we knew that was it was toast with it being that chocolate Grit type texture and color

@@erwinpadgett1050 exactly, why sometimes having it professionally rebuilt is better then "new" old stock as usually the common failure points get updated or fixed, especially if whomever is rebuilding it is familiar with the transmission.
@erwinpadgett1050
10 ай бұрын
@@cheesecurd100s Not so in many ways. Due to parts shortages, UAW Workers striking, and trucking companies shutting down, it's hard right now to get any parts. If you did have it rebuilt you'd have to ship it or transport it to the Company that does it. Plus the cost of having a Dealership or Ford doing it was above the cost of what he paid for a brand new one. How do you or I know how long this transmission will last? We don't ,but this way the Transit isn't setting around waiting on parts or the Transmission being built.
@FordBossMe

Your comment about if new was so great that didn't even make any sense and the reason I say that is because Ford tells people it's not a serviceable transmission because you have to pull the subframe and if you knew about the vehicle you would understand why they go bad because they say the maintenance intervals like 150,000 miles on these which is not correct so there's a double whammy against you you have to pull the subframe to change the filter into a pan drop or if you're doing by the book you do it 150,000 miles which is ludicrous so Ford literally makes their transmission fail because of their service intervals

I've got a 2017 Ford Transit 150 that's having what seems to be torque converter issues. The dealership told me to keep waiting until it completely failed instead of replacing the torque converter. Is this wise advice or is it just a way for me to come in and spend more money later?

@FordBossMe

Yeah you need to go into the programming strategy for the transmission and it's going to ask for the numbers on the side of the transmission there's a solenoid ID and then there's a solenoid strategy take a picture of the tag on the side of the transmission and when you go into your scan tool it will ask you to initiate a learning procedure
