Come on fella, 12 weeks to do 600 miles? It's not an ornament , ride it and let us know what how it goes eh? Deciding whether or not to buy one so all the reviews are really helpful.

HORNET6 , hey buddy, would love to ride it more, just don't get time, and if I go for a rip I normally take the 959, hence the low miles! And as you can see in the vid it spends most of the time covered in muck so is no ornament, I cleaned it specially for this video 😜

Hey, thanks for reply, if it helps I'm a bit of a cleaning fanny so get through lots of Motorex Moto clean 900, Fuchs Off and even more Scottoiler 365., excellent gear for keeping corrosion at bay. I suppose Honda intended them to go off road so shouldn't worry about getting them wet and muddy.

HORNET6 if it helps I did 8000 miles on last years AT and it was basically great but the spokes were poor as well as the handlebar switches! Winter hit them hard too. I also found the standard rubber dreadful in wet so used TKC70 and they were awesome. Just exchanged mine for a 2017 model so let's see what this ones like

Be careful about jet washing the handlebar switches. I read a scary thread on the XRV.org.uk forum about issues with the "set" switch getting wet, causing gear selection and rev management issues on the DCT version.

I picked my AT up on the 21st as of today 30th I have done 726 mile booked my 1st service when I picked it up from the dealer going in on the 3rd. I got the black one because of the dirt showing on on the white one so easy. totally agree on the tyres good in the dry, feel like plastic in the wet, last weekend went the long way to Weymouth and clocked up 360mile with my son on the back, the seat almost cut me in half and my son did not fair any better I am hoping it's just needs breaking in. got some freebies with the bike. the touring screen which I got change the second day of having it because the top of it cut right in the middle of my vision but it did help with the wind. Got the Honda heated grips, which are crap heat level 5 is the same as heat level 2 on my old Oxford heated grips on my NC750X. then there is the top box which is ok for just a helmet but don't expect to get the rest of your riding gear in there. but for the bike it's self it is spot on engine is good handling and riding position are excellent fuelling is a little off at slow traffic speeds when hot.

+hazzer hazzer , Good work with the bike buddy! I bet I'll wish I'd not got the white one when it gets crapped up in the winter! Funny you mention the fueling as mines started playing up recently but using super unleaded fuel seems to help I think. Shame the heated grips are not great, odd u are having seat issues as I've had no worries although I've not yet ridden it as far as you have! Keep enjoying it as I know you will, think I may change the tyres when winter sets in 👍, cheers, GMAN

I'm considering one of these, or the 250 rally, having said that i feel the 250 is overpriced and doesn't get good reviews. I would like to ask a question.. having owned a DRZ400 and a WR250 Supermoto, I found them to be very baulky when negotiating obstacles at very low speed in 1st gear. The DRZ would literally stall and throw me off unless I slipped the clutch. Is the AT the same or does the twin cylinder set up smooth this out?
@GMANS_BIKES_CARS

+Nige , hi buddy, The AT is very smooth with good fuelling, it feels way lighter than it is to ride too! Best get a test ride soon 😜

Why did you take the Ducati to Spain when you have the African twin? Lots of miles!
@GMANS_BIKES_CARS
6 жыл бұрын
Hi mate, as we took the bikes in vans last year to Spain the Ducati was perfect as just road switchback mountain roads all day which were way more suited to the 959, next year we are riding all the way and will definitely take the Africa Twin no question 👍

Would you use ACF50 or Scottolier 365 to help keep it clean? Also is yours the DCT or manual model? I have seen reviews which say the DCT is better off road. Btw when I went to the Honda dealer in Cambridge a few months ago they didn't want to know about bikes. Pretty disinterested. Told me to go to BSE. So I thought f*ck 'em and have not been back. So I look at KTM and BMW GS which are more expensive although still could get a Honda although don't like the dealer in Cambridge and cba to go to BSE too far. I would take the AT to Spain and do some off roading in the Picos.

+Alex Morgan , Hi Alex, yes I’ll use scottoiler over the winter on the AT, mines Manual, I had my bike delivered to me by Kestrel Honda Coventry, and don’t need to go the BSE ever, the great thing is even though Cambridge don’t sell big litre bikes anymore they will still do the servicing so suits me fine! Worth one trip to BSE then you never have to go again! I’ll do a bit of green laning but our Spain trips are all about fast road bikes as you can see in my vids, ps, Rode my mates dct and on the road I still prefer to have a proper clutch even though the dct was amazing 😜

Thanks for the quick reply. Wow Coventry was a long way to go. There's a Honda dealer in Peterborough but never been there. Following your commute I think I have seen your AF as I think you park at the same place as I do. If it was yours I had a pretty good look at it, looked really smart. Just can't get over the lack of full Honda dealership facilities in Cambridge.Yes I can see the attraction for sports bikes in Spain but equally there is a lot of good off roading to be done especially in the Picos and Harry Metcalfe his channel Harry's Garage did a fabulous off road route across the Spanish Pyrenees on a new AT and his son on an old one. Well worth a watch if you have time. Plus you can ride from the north to the south all off road through stunning scenery. Maybe see you around Cambridge some time.

+Alex Morgan , no worries Alex, I’d never even ridden the AT, just rang round all the dealers to get the best deal, never even went to the dealer, did everything over the phone and they delivered the bike, loved Harry’s vid from the Pyrenees too! Will do more off roading when I get bored of fast road riding 😬

Darcy Gjerstad , Hey Buddy, I take full responsibility if u buy the AT! I would of maybe gone for the Multi 950 but I just know it would never stand up to being used in the winter everyday like the AT will, all my Hondas have been great through the winter with no corrosion issues of any kind! If you are not going to use the bike in the winter then the Multi would be a great choice 👍

Hi G-Man I just fitted the Remus to mine awesome sound, I tried it with out the DB killer was great but for all day riding can be a little to much for the ears lol😜 I have just added a Givi Trekker outback top-box I was thinking about fitting some Oxford heated grips, never tried them before and heard good reviews about them. The only problem I'm guessing is where they have located the battery? Any ideas would be great, I normally get the dealers to fit stuff but I have started fitting stuff myself now to save on labour and watching KZitem videos help a lot 👍🏻 I'm like you having time to run it in not easy, I only have a 4 mile commute and to get all my kit on for a 15 min ride it's just not worth it Bloody hell I'm going on like an old woman lol Any way safe riding buddy, keep the videos coming

Hi mate, yes left my baffles in as you are correct, it's very loud anyway! No sure on the heated grip, I just wear warmer gloves in winter and the hand guards do help a tad. I know what you mean about a short commute, takes me longer to get gear on and off than riding to work 🤣
