Just bought one here in the states, found out it came from Ontario Canada. I love it.

Not sure if someone already said this or not but when you were reviewing the exterior features of the vehicle and commenting on the differences, you didn't mention the approach and departure angles. I am pretty sure the Trailhawk's bumpers allow for greater angles of approach and departure than the other models. (If someone pointed this out already apologies.)

Nice review! As an owner, I feel the V6 is the only choice when choosing a power plant for the Trailhawk. The 4 is sloooowwww whereas the 6 is much better. MPG? If that is your main concern look to other trim levels or other competitors, as that is secondary when choosing a vehicle that can handle the terrain that the Trailhawk can handle.

Appreciate the feedback. While I was driving the Trailhawk I was looking at the Cherokee across a broader spectrum of users. I've been amazed at how many times I'll see Trailhawks driving around in urban settings by families. While that's not to say they don't also use it for off-roading, there are very few off-road trails around where I live and very few 4x4 clubs so the likelihood is that they probably didn't need all the Trailhawk could offer. Thanks for your comments!

What about the hemi...I believe that is an option too for this vehicle ?

Agreed. I have the v6 and put a k& n filter in it to bring it up a hair. I'd love to change the exhaust but can't find any real options. The 4 is a dog. And this thing isn't light so yes you will appreciate the power changing lanes, going uphill or pulling with the hitch. Frankly I wish they bumped it up to 300hp and more torque

Great review, but as creekhed1 and Weekend Warrior said the 6 is the only way to go. This is a 4000+ lbs vehicle so especially around town to get the weight up and running the 6 is more efficient with time and fuel. I have a 2015 and running the highway for ~180 miles on a trip set cruise on 68 mph and did break the 30 mpg mark.

Thanks Walt! As I mentioned below, I was trying to make this more of a generic Cherokee review while having the Trailhawk as my demo ride. I often see suburban families driving the Trailhawk around here, and while its possible they may go off-roading, there aren't many trails or 4x4 clubs around here. Jeep made a 4 & 6 because they both are the right choice for certain individuals, and that was basically the point I was trying to make. Thanks again!

Don't listen to these idiots saying these are junk I buy a new car almost every year and have owned everything from acura, Subaru, Ford, Dodge and now a Jeep Cherokee trailhawk and the quality of the 2018 Jeep is on par with the best

It's a Jeep, chance are, you're not expecting fuel efficiency

Especially if you chose to buy the Trailhawk...its like if someone were to buy a Wrangler Rubicon and then complain about gas mileage. If you care about gas mileage buy a Honda Civic.

My 3.2litre Trailhawk trip gauge shows 10.9L/100Km averaged out over 10,000Km. I can get 9-10L pure highway driving. I'm fine with that.

I hate the UConnect. It may be great in the US but in Canada it is not the same, even after I updated the software to the latest greatest. No UConnect apps, Nav is really bad even in large cities, and if you are driving you have to use the voice commands to change "anything" on the nav. The last point really bothers me; I get they are concerned about distracted driving and safety, however, even if you have a passenger who may want to change the Nav it will still stay locked down. Also the online and after-sale support for Jeeps' in Canada suck, you don't deal with Mopar like the Yanks, instead you get some 3rd party support hotline that will always tell you, "you have to call your dealership"!!! Whereas the Americans get a full Mopar login to subscribe to UConnect services, view history, etc. My Mopar account shows me a fraction of what it should. I love my Trailhawk and can live with this but I wouldn't recommend a Dodge/Ram/Jeep (Mopar) to anyone. FYI- this review is okay if you just want to see a Trailhawk move but this guy is not at all knowlegeable about the vehicle.

Do the automakers loan you the car for the day or the week?

If we are on a special media drive event, it's for a day. If it's part of a typical review cycle, we usually have it for a week. Sometimes less and sometimes longer, but usually a week.
