1260 kg?? Yes, with two passengers and a full tank maybe! On its own, even the 2-litre model weighs about 1050 kg.

Opening and closing the roof is , ' relatively simple'. I'm 80 next , with shoulder and neck problems, and I can do it in less than four seconds ! How easy does he want it to be ?

I'm having my gearbox overhauled - thank goodness under pre-owned dealer warranty - and have heard of someone who is on his third box. I bought my ND pre-owned (I'm on a moderate income, sorry) after years of saving; wishing to buy a reliable roadster - only to find out these are very delicate and quick-wearing cars. I also already hear the big-ends in the engine when its cold, and that's after 48000K miles. I own a 1,5 from october 2016; post- mid-2017 cars should have a harder-wearing box. Just pay very close attention when buying pre-owned; close the hood, and listen to metallic worn-bearing noises. If you have any ears left on your head, you should be able to hear it.

Why is the 0-60 time so slow compared to MotorTrend's? They got 5.8 on the 2.0 liter

they are crazy.. max 0-60 on any of the new MX-5;s is 6.9 seconds. Motor trend must of modded it...

Strength RD my guess is that they did a rolling start or something

Yeah must of, a shame because 5.8 seconds would be much better for this car!

Car and Driver tested a 2016 mx-5 2L on 10/26/15 and they got a 0 to 60 time of 5.8 sec.

1. Mx-5 Club doesn't have rearview mirror with autodimming/homelink? This $33k car doesn't have it yet while other cars for $25k do. 2. Why no backup camera? Will be mandated in 2018. The Fiat 124 Abarth has it. 3. Soul red is a boring dark red color for sedans. Should be cherry red like the Fiat 124. 4. I would like to see the club model with side mirrors that have autodimming as this car is very low and I don't want every car's headlights in my eyes. 5. The ball on the manual shifter just screws on so it was pointing sideways in the car I test drove.

mrpmj00 the fiat has a fiat engine, gives less mpg and suffers from turbo lag ,back up camera ? Really ? I go forwards not backwards if you need a reversing camera in a car with this tiny amount of over hang you have a problem my friend . The red is a impregnated mica paint (not that mine is Red) so not quite sure where the dull red comes from its metallic. Dimming wing mirrors why?I don't get dazzled .

@Lee B: you can justify it anyway you want. It's not for me. Dealers still have tons of 2016 and yet it's almost 4/2017 so what does that tell you? They're NOT selling.

mrpmj00 point 3 re colour...agree totally, why not a flat red like the true red.

It's a lightweight sports car, who cares about homelink or autodimming mirrors LOL. You're looking for a Camry.

The original NA generation will always be the best.....before we had those regulations that have made it less of an enjoyment over the model years.
