How many of you have even driven the new Maxima that are quick to complain about the CVT? It's honestly pretty good. I have a 16 Don't Judge it until you try it.

BE CAREFUL IF THIS HAS A CVT TRANSMISSION. over $4000 to fix it, and they are known to have problems soon after the warranty expires. Look it up! The info is out there. This is not an isolated problem. Mine gave no warning. shifted fine since 2011 and in 2016 - it just died. towed off to the dealer and waited for a new trans. aprox 85k freeway miles, and it just died. typical from what I read. I also had a 1986 Maxima that lost the transmission in less than 10K ! But because Nissan replaced that one under warranty, we purchased another one in 2011. We thought Nissan as a consumer concerned company, so we trusted them.. We were about 15,000 over warranty, and Nissan turned their back on us, even though we were still within the time of warranty (7 years) but past the mileage (70,000 miles). Needless to say, we will not be purchasing a Nissan product ever again. I owned an Inifinit. I sold it before it lost it's Nissan transmission.

The charger has an optional V8, this has a V6. Charger is RWD the Maxima is FWD. Charger has a conventional auto, Maxima has a CVT. Charger is a full size, Maxima is not quite a fullsize. Really depends on what you want. Personally, I think they both look very stylish. Aggressive looking, hands down the Charger.

A new midnight edition will soon be available for 6 models. Once again Nissan just does not go all the way to entice would be buyers. For example the 2016 Altima SR does not offer a sunroof or side mirror blinker indicator.
@JokerG16
7 жыл бұрын
E. L. Yeah I saw the line up. Looks hella sweet. But that fucking sucks tho. I thought the side mirror LED blinkers are standard all across the board. I hear that they don't put a sunroof on the SR models of the Max and Alt because it would make it less sporty. Total bullshit. To me, they're just cutting costs to entice buyers to get the fully loaded.
@e.l.4019
7 жыл бұрын
I'm incorrect the midnight editions are available now. What's even more crazy are the huge discounts on Nissan cars. Just saw a 2017 Altima SR midnight edition for less than $17,000...of course some discounts people will not qualify for. I actually like my 2016 Altima SR with led lights w/ remote start. I get 28/41m.p.g. city and highway. Once this car broke 5,000 miles the car has more than adequate acceleration. Nissan will hold back on presenting the 2018 models....to give the shock factor. The way the 2018 Camry sport looks----especially the console-- Nissan needs to come out of the box.
@JokerG16

E. L. Oh wow. It was more than likely the 4-cyl right? And that's cool. What color do you have? And is yours the 4 or 6-cyl? I currently drive a '15 Rogue SV AWD black on black. I love it as well. Next year, I'm seriously aiming to get the Murano. Always loved it. And yeah, the new Camry looks SWEET! They've gotta do something with the Altima but sadly I don't think they will since they just refreshed it last year. But I currently like the new Nissan line up. They definitely have been on fire since 2013/14.

the CVT just ruins it for me, they have done the best they could with a CVT but its simply not as good as a traditional smooth auto. not to mention i made one on their website and whoa 46K+ for how i would load one out thats quite a bit more than its competitors from mazda, chevy, or ford. its a nice car but not a good 6K+ more nice.

Technically Mazda doesn't have a car that competes with this. The Mazda 6 is a mid-size sedan. Isn't the Maxima a full-size?
@coureurdebois
8 жыл бұрын
Kevin Allen the Maxima is not a true full sized sedan, its a upper mid sized like the Impala and taurus which are both upper mid sized sedans as well. also, they are both with in 1 inch of each other in over all size.
@TodayWithDustin
8 жыл бұрын
+justin bouche The Impala and Taurus as well as the Avalon are all full sized. However Justin is right, the Maxima isn't a full size, it is a 4dsc so a upper/more sporty mid sized is right. I also have to agree the cvt is a great Trans but in a vehicle someone wants to be classified as a 4dsc it isn't the right choice.
