That's my bike right there....a 2018 Battle green with most of the chrome gone....black exhaust, bars, lights, US Army star insignia...really gets the looks. It is such a FUN machine. I can't really explain why, but it just feels so right, nimble, honest, simple, back to basic motorcycling. For "getting there" or in cold conditions, my BMW R1200RT is perfect for adverse conditions, but for pure enjoyment, the Classic 500 is the one! I'm taking it to work tomorrow on the slower roads. Just don't ask too much of these machines and they will absolutely charm you.

Thanks to watching this video a few months back ,I am now the proud owner of an army classic 500 , I absolutely love it.. Now on 5k miles and hasn't missed a beat, iv got a screen, crash bars and the large luggage rack and I use it for camping, hunting and fishing around the UK and I even use a vintage canvas army tent to keep it all period correct looking .I couldn't be happier so thanks.

That's amazing, thanks very much. I really must contact Royal Enfield and get some commission, you're not the first! So long as riders know what the bikes are and what they are not, they will always be happy with them. Enjoy your riding, hunting and fishing.

I can tell from the sound of the engine, and that it is a demo bike, that it is new and not yet run-in. Which means is will vibrate and you are unable to make use of the full rev range through the power band. Once fully bedded-in they do not vibrate anything like as much and the engine can rev freely to the limiter, producing more power at top and bottom end. My own 2015 Classic is far more lively and a very different animal, and my other bike is a Guzzi.

Hi Jeff, I completely agree. I've recommended to others, to try and a get a ride on a bike with a few 000's miles under its wheels. My own Classic Chrome has now done 4,000 miles and I can cruise quite happily at 70 mph on the motorway.

@@MarkESBuckmaster Wise words have been spoken. Right now there are two 650cc twin engine models around, the interceptor 650 and Continental GT 650, if the classic model got a 650 twin that would be my favourite model in the whole world. The classic model is the pinnacle of retro British styling. So marvelous.

@@mayukhsen8195 I said that two years ago when we all thought the new twin would be a 750cc. But here we are now with the 650 twin. I have indeed added an Interceptor to my garage. I think you'll find that the 650cc engine will find itself in many different styled bikes, perhaps even one based on the 500 Bullet or Classic.

Nice job. What roads were these? I'm thinking about getting an RE 500. There is a dealer fifteen miles from me, so service would not be a problem. What do you think about adding a cog, or two, to the front sprocket for highway travel? By the way, I also own Guzzis. What model is yours?

Hi Subham, yes you did. Because the bike is now electric start, you don't need the amp meter. Instead there is a fuel light that goes on when you are low on fuel.

Not sure what you are saying. This was a demonstrator bike and the exhaust was standard. So what you're hearing is how the bike sounds new. I've fitted a more free flowing shorter silencer and to me sounds better.

how is the vibration above 100 kmph
@MarkESBuckmaster
7 жыл бұрын
This one was of course a demonstrator and hadn't been run in, so there was some vibration over 100 kph, but not as bad as I was expecting. My own bike, has now done around 900 miles and is almost run in. I will then try some of the ideas mentioned by Paul Grocock.
