Just to clarify the braking; there are in fact discs on both front wheels and one on the rear. They are all linked by the one pedal on the right hand side. Using the brake pedal activates all three with ABS and other safety features including traction control and stability control to ensure that when you brake the force is balanced across the front and rear. It avoids potential lock ups other such panic responses. It is a great machine for those who are older and want to keep riding or who might have issues holding up a big bike. It can't lean or counter steer like a motorcycle but some riders lean their body to help the bike through bends and corners.

I motovlog on my Spyder and I love it. It does take some time to get used to the turning, but once you spend more time with it, you will get it. They really are cool machines and I think everyone should at least test ride on like you did. I think they'd be just as surprised as you on how much fun they are to ride. Oh, and the older spyders like mine are 1000cc. The newer ones are 1330cc. Thats why they are fast :)

Hi Kat. It's called push/pull when it comes to turning and that was an RT you were on. Also it has a Rotax 1300 motor in it. So yes it is going to be fast. I have a 2014 Can-Am Spyder ST Limited and it is Cognac (orange) in color. I have had mine since April 26th, 2018. I have been on 3 bug road trip with it and yes they are a blast to ride. Eventually I will graduate up to an RT. I just wish I was able to upload a photo on here of what mine looks like, but I do not have a way of doing that.

Hahaha oh my gosh I loved this switch up review!! I never expected you to review a trike and it was so awesome. Everything you were discovering about the trike was so funny, especially the adjustable windscreen, cup holders, and STORAGE. Those kinda features might be almost standard on cruisers/trikes (I wouldn't have a clue) but I feel like I would've had a very similar reaction.🤣 Sport bikes have raised me in a different way 😂 soooo luxurious!! Haha great video!!🤙🏻

I love the Spyder...I describe it as a reverse trike and it handles much better than a "normal" trike. I agree though, it's difficult to get used to turning on it if you're an experienced motorcycle rider. I think the biggest benefit of the Spyder RT is that you can tour in luxury. Friends on two-wheels I ride are pretty fatigued riding 300 miles while I end my day like I can go another 100 miles. Those grips, rear armrests, and possibly the driver seat are not OEM which may be why they felt awkward.

Love your review. I've had 2 and 3 weels. I drive the Can Am Ryker now. Its great. I love it. It has all the enjoyment of outside on a 2 weel but you have to be a bit more hands-on. Benefit? Never have carry the weight of the machine and almost find myself chilling at traffic or traffic lights. Also; No slipping in the rain. I love 2 and 3 weels and think they aren't the same thing. If you compare them you ar always disappointed. But if you try them as individual types of rides. You will love both!!

Good vid Kat, also lowkey woof that Magna, always love those. So I'd love to see you try one of the leaning three wheelers next to see how it compares, like the Niken or some of the MP3 style scooters. You forgot a number of things that are also very good an the Can Am Spyder RT: Heated seats for driver and passenger, heated grips for driver and passenger, glove box with USB and headphone jack for your smartphone and the whole safety system - the *VSS* Vehicle Stabilisation System - *TCS* Traction Control System - *SCS* Stabilisation Control System - *CBS* Combined Break System - *ABS* Anti Break System - *EMC* Electronic Motor Control - *DPS* Dynamic Power Share = Power Steering If the Spyder lifts a wheel in a turn, motor is regulated back, if the Spyder slides over a wheel in front, motor is regulated back, if the rear wheel spins, motor is regulated back. If the wheels slip when braking, the ABS is activated and all 3 wheels are always braked in the correct ratio. If you drive slowly, the Spyder is easy to steer. The faster you drive, the harder the steering becomes. Unless you are completely stupid, you CANNOT flip the Can Am Spyder. And between the two wheels in front is also a large trunk 😉

I am truly shocked there aren't more negative comments. The can ams get so much hate usually. Somehow two in front makes it not acceptable like two in back. The two in front are stable. I have a ryker and its a blast. One day will upgrade to a nicer one for our plans to travel cross country. My husband's knees are bad and one day he won't be on two wheels anymore either. But this still gets you out in the open and the wind in your face. Love mine.

I've seen a lot of theses. The owners of these are really really really into them. Two are kinda famous. A white one with black spots like a Holstein, it's called a CowAm, no I didn't make that up. Another is a molted green like a frog, and the owner put fog lights on the fenders, makes it look like the eyes. I think they are pretty cool. The ea t ly models did have some dependability issues, mainly the ecu.

I’m watching your review on the Can-Am on Roku, I wrote an 800 mL without the bags a few years ago and you’re right if I’m gonna ride a motorcycle is going to have two wheels. I road a $40,000 Harley trike from Harley and I think that kind of stuff should be outlawed they are scary they make you think you’re on a motorcycle until you turn and that is not a comfortable feeling. I’m 59 years old when I can’t hold a motorcycle up anymore I’m gonna stop riding motorcycles until then it’s only gonna be two wheels. Enjoyed your review my 80-year-old mother is now following you. I can’t get her on a motorcycle lol

The Can Am geometry, with the wide front axle, won't allow the traditional roll-over like Harley or Honda trikes. Weight transfer during a turn, will sit on the outside wheel, keeping the machine from rolling over. It's like having training wheels on purpose!

Messkit Yeah that may be true I did not like my experience on the Can-Am I do not like my experience on a trach and when I can no longer hold up my motorcycle I’ll stop riding motorcycles. @Pmacgregor55

i always thought they sort of leaned a little like a bike?, is it a rigid platform and steering like an ATV?
@SLO-Ride
4 жыл бұрын
Yes, rigid steering. There are non-Can Am models that do lean/cantilever, but are mostly in the custom build arena. Except for the Yamaha Niken, most factory tilting 3 wheelers are, essentially, modified scooters. Although Kat noticed you need a little more effort to turn, she could have found out that the Can-Am will take a quick turn much faster than regular bikes. The main thing about two front wheels, is the geometry changes the center of gravity by not allowing the bike to raise a wheel on a turn, since the weight transfer goes directly to the front axle. Trikes with two rear wheels, will roll over toward the unsupported space on either side of the front wheel during a rapid turn. This is the main cause of wrecks on traditional trikes...and also why Honda stopped making the little 3 wheel ATC's, so popular in the 70's and 80's.

Well first of all, if your'e going to give a review you should know what your'e talking about. Like saying it only has rear brakes. It has three wheel braking, front, and rear using the brake pedal. Plus, you are complaining about the windshield blocking your sight of view. Well, if you had done any research on the bike you would have know the windshield is electronic adjustable. You should always due some research or ask questions about the vehicle before attempting to ride.
