Hi Rick from south Africa. I have just placed my second order with wingstuff and would like to thank your friendly staff for the efficient and outstanding service. I can buy stuff from South Africa, and get it quicker than (much, much quicker) our local dealer can. you make it feel as if I am ordering from around the corner. Because of wingstuff, I am able to customize and fully outfit my wing. Thanks once again.

As I watch this I'm also in my second day of owning a 2018 GW Tour DCT and my impressions parallel yours almost exactly. As for the tank door where you say you have to press on the right side of the door with your other hand, you'll find that it'll release if you simply press the latch button on its right side. I'm surprised by that design oversight by Honda. But, I'm having the best motorcycle experience of my life and I've owned both Harley and Indian heavyweights. Thanks for such a nice video.

Nicely done; as an ex GoldWing owner from years back (had one shortly after they came out back in the 70’s), I’m considering getting back in the saddle with one of these new ones I’ve been seeing! Honda has certainly come a long way in developing this fine product! 👍

Nice job showing all the good things about the bike! I have seen mostly negative things posted, while I believe Honda has made the Goldwing a class leading bike, so thanks for showing what it really can do. As an F6B owner, I have ordered parts/oil filters/accessories from your store, you have GREAT prices, excellent service, and you are a rider, so THANKS!

I have an NC700 with DCT. I suggest always putting it in neutral before turning it off. While it is supposed to go to neutral, a few NC700 and Africa Twin owners have reported an occasional instance of it failing to go to neutral. Then you cannot start it. There is a workaround to get it started. Maybe they have fixed that in the Goldwing DCT, but why risk it.

Excellent review and thank you for your observations and comments. Question? How is it getting it up on the center stand? What fuel mileage did you get? Does it use regular or require premium fuel? How is the wind protection in general around you, not just helmet buffeting? Any heat issues with the motor? And how much fuel does it hold? What colors are available and what is your opinion of them in comparison and in your opinion of course? I think the red/black combo is only available if you get the air bag model? And just for my preference, I would get the manual shift no matter how good the DCT is. I looked at one and sat on one and loved it from my limited observation. I didn't have time to take the dealer up on his offer of a test ride but will be back to do so. Seating position and weight distribution felt very good. It sits lower than my ST1300 does. I am in the market for this kind of bike and will compare it to the new Yamaha and a Harley. I have tried the BMW last year but it didn't appeal too much to me riding it, other than just being fast. I also tried the Harley Road Glide and Street Glide last year, and I liked both of them. I have never been that interested in a Goldwing til now due to heftiness and looks. I love my ST1300 for riding pleasure but could use more comfort for my wife when she rides and luggage room with the trunk. These new GW bags look about the same as my ST1300 bags, but don't require the key to open them!

I am very interested in getting iver 2012_2017 model, or maybe 2018 but I have some concerns with the new one , storage space with it loseing around 45lt of storage witch it know has pritty much same as my bmw rt, and I’ve heard of other reviews two up isn’t as comftatable as the old and also if with stock seat isn’t as good as the last model? I do like the sound of dct and new suspension and the new technology but as a proper tourer I am not sure????
@WingStuffTV
5 жыл бұрын
Stevo thanks for leaving your comment! You are definitely not alone in having these concerns. We anticipate more two up riders will be using a trailer. For solo riders, a rack with a rack bag and maybe another bag on the back seat should be just fine. As with older models there are aftermarket seats being produced (such as Mustang) that should help add comfort. Although Rick, our owner, rides with the stock seat and doesn't have an issue. I suggest you keep talking with riders who own the new Wing until you feel you have a pretty good idea of what to expect. Everybody that we've talked to who owns one absolutely loves it!

This should not be for first bike. You should start off something smaller and learn how to handle the bike before get on bike this big.
@WingStuffTV
6 жыл бұрын
Hi Ali, thanks for your comment! Yes, I do agree with Copychop. I feel the DCT is much easier to ride than the manual shift version. I also realize besides being easier I’m a lot less tired after riding it all day. There’s a lot less effort, besides being able to accelerate much faster than the manual model. If you're a beginner DCT will be easier. That said, If you've never ridden a motorcycle before, I urge you to take a motorcycle riding course first at your local college. Most states require that anyways, you will learn the basics on a smaller bike. I also agree with ktl2001 that you should first learn how to ride on a smaller motorcycle. And learn from seasoned experts who know what they're doing. Be sure you are ready to ride a large motorcycle. You may consider getting something used for a short time that’s slightly smaller to gain experience. Then move up to the Goldwing, it’s not as easy to learn buying such a large motorcycle as your first bike if you haven’t ridden before. Hope this helps and good luck on your first motorcycle purchase...ride safe!

Im 6-4 tall with a 33/34 inseam, in your opinion is this bike too cramped in the knees. I sat on a 2021 at the dealer and my knees were about 1" away but could be different when riding I suppose.
@WingStuffTV
3 жыл бұрын
Hey Jeff, we've heard that concern from other riders so you're not alone. There are simple adjustments you can make to the bike to help with that, such as a seat that sets you farther back on the bike a bit, coupled with Helibars. You can also get Aeropegs or some other peg to allow you to stretch your legs if/when feeling cramped. Please don't hesitate to contact our customer service for additional ideas. (949-454-2199 or customerservice@wingstuff.com). Thanks for the the question!

To Back Roads Wingrider--- Don't be fooled. Forget about the negatives you've seen on youtubes, especially from Max at $%^&*@#. He's selling his suspension products and is worried about losing business. Can't blame him. He's talked about the polyurethane bumper on the front shock as some kind of stop gap measure. Many cars have that bumper and I think that technology is beyond some. Not the Honda engineers though. I've got this 2018 and it's the best. Been riding since 1972!

It's hard to remodel a bike when it's so good. I've just completed 108 000 km on my 04 Wing and can tell you it's the best out of 12 bikes in 25 years. I just tried the new Wing and believe Honda is spot on. The handling, ergos and suspension are amazing. The fact it doesn't have as much cargo doesn't concern me because you always tend to overload specially 2 up and even with my 04 if I'm out more than 2 weeks with my wife I have to use Postal to lighten up. I believe you're right this new Wing would give the old ST a run for their money and a Concourse and an FJ and a GTL the difference being unmatched comfort.
