This is the biggest van that will also fit in a garage. Not sure why nobody mentions that in reviews except people who buy it. You get more room in the cargo area than smaller vans like that Transit Connect. And it will fit into any garage unlike the bigger vans like the pro master. If you want the biggest van for camping or hauling sheet goods, but you still have to fit it into your garage because of the HOA, this is a good option.

I've bought a new Metris Cargo Van in May 2017, and it has generally been a very satisfactory experience. After a rash of minor leaks during the first few months of ownership (all related to the stupid "chicken tax" teardown/rebuild process of the body/chassis that was required by law), it has performed flawlessly since. Great gas mileage, fun and easy to drive, a feeling of quality, and more than adequate power (even under full load) makes this van a better choice than the competitive smaller vans. Plus it easily fits in my garage. A few gripes.....the side rearview mirrors are far too small (I added a fisheye mirror on top), an absolutely HORRIBLE AM/FM radio (good luck getting a station unless you are parked next door to the station's antenna), and noisy, poor-wearing OEM Continental tires were a few of the issues that need improvement. I have since replaced the Continentals with Michelins, and they are far quieter, and showing no wear at 10,000 miles. I have access to an "MB Discount Number" through an associate, so discount brings the price down to a far more reasonable level. I will be buying another one when this van gets worn out. Given the reliable way it's running now, that won't be anytime soon.

After two years plus ownership, I can say that I average around 27 or 28 mpg. 32 mpg on the highway is a common experience! No one pays $38k for this version of the van! You can't compare it to the Transit Connect or Ram whatever. Those two can't begin to haul the goods or tow the things this van can. Fit and finish are beautiful. Materials are all holding up nicely. So thanks for a pretty useless review. You could have complained about the 7 speed transmission. Well, it's only bad if you are trying to drive it like a V8 with a three speed. 42,000 miles and it's still solid and a great ride. Best looking cargo van on the market.

Absolutely agree. I've owned a 2016 Cargo Van since new and it has served my personal and small business needs well. No comparison to smaller Ford and Ram, especially in fit and finish. People seem to always refer to Doug Demuro review of the Metris passenger van...which was not designed as a typical minivan but was geared toward businesses that need to 'shuttle' people around. In a way, I'm glad this van is 'underrated' and the white cargo van with options has great resale value. Just make sure to get one with the rear view camera and blind-spot monitoring.

I am a hot shot delivery driver and put 120,000 miles on my van in one year. Five months later I am at 180,000 miles on 2017 Metris Cargo. So far the pulley system has failed three times. Once under Warranty and twice not covered. Fire Stone repaired the pulley Tensioner for $600. Third time at 150,000 the Alternater failed throwing the belts. $3,200 and 12 hours labor included rear brakes. They charged double for already expensive parts. Find a good local guy that can work on these vans. Everything is hard to get to when it breaks. Still running and shifting great. It is making a weird noise on the driver side. It happens with both braking and accelerating. Could be a muffler hole. Maintenance is best at Valvoline. I get a Jimmy Fund ticket from BK and save 20 percent on all fluid exchanges. $380 for Oil change, coolant change and a Transmission exchange. Verses $560 for one at MB.

Very few people understand how great these cargo vans are. I leased one last year, a long wheel base. great fuel economy. Lots of power. I acutally tow often with it. Typical gas engine when towing, which means very poor. But I have my tools loaded in the van and I average 9l/100kms on a regualr basis. very good seats and has a 2500 load capacity which is better than mosg trucks. Its hard to beat this van. And it is about the same price as its competitors.

Same here. Didn't want a full size van and thought I couldn't 'afford' the Metris in 2016. Like Roadshow, we produce videos and need to be able to sit in the cargo area comfy. Not happening for anyone 6 foot or more in the Ford TC or Ram PC. Got a farily loaded Metris with the 270 doors and its been a great all-purpose cargo van. 36K miles and only a little over $1,000 in maintenance. Also bought the 7/120k Benz Warranty.

I owned a Transit Connect and now a Metris for the past year and five months. I put 378,000 on the Transit Connect. I did go through two transmissions because I took them out of jjunk yards and saved about three thousand each time. The van was used for Final mile delivery and routes. I ended up getting $2500 with 378,000 miles on it. I sold it to a exporter. The Metris while a much better ride with more room is no different then any other Mercedes to repair. The local dealer is owned by Penske and the charged $3,200 for a new alternator it failed around 130,000. Also in that charge rear brakes and rotars. A set of wiper blades and a engine air filter. Not much of anything for the money. The van grossed me around 10k a month so the extra comfort is worth it.

I can tell the commentator really doesn't know what she is talking about. First off, she compared the van to smaller Vans from Ford and Dodge. She should have made the comparison with the larger vans since the load and trailering capacity are more similar to the larger vans. I have owned a Metris for over a year with the long wheel base. There is no way the smaller Vans are a comparison. She also made reference to the engine as if it was just so so. I can tell you from experience that the engine in this van out performs a Promaster or a Ford Transit. This van is no slouch. The Metris is very underrated and I find a lot of people that review these Vans do not understand cargo Vans because they have very little experience with them.

I have no idea why people compare this van to a Transit or ProMaster City. it really sits on its own. unfortunately in America people only know Mercedes as premium luxury. it is a commercial van. it can also call people try to compare it and make it what it isn't supposed to be. and honestly how many features do people really use. it's a bunch of fluff to make more money.

Honestly, the Transit Connect and ProMaster are straight trash. I know a few used van dealers that won't touch any of the Dodge or Ford vans, they have weak transmissions and a short life cycle. I have a Nissan NV200, and I hate to say it, its a better bargain than the Mercedes Metris and Im a huge Merceds fan. I have a Sprinter 2500 144" with the regular roof and it it perfect. The Metris and Sprinter are 2 completely different animals but for my company, I need both. I am trying to sell my Nissan and get a used Metris, only to keep an all Mercedes fleet. My Nissan NV200 has been perfect, 70,000, bought it new on 02/2017, the only downside to these "micro" vans are wheels and tires, I swapped mine out for 16" alloys and the difference is night and day.

for most tradesmen, these vans are incredibly attractive. You cannot stand upright in a Transit Connect or Ram City, and for tradesmen that are in the metro areas, a full sized Sprinter is needlessly large.
