In Part 3 of Randy Newberg's Montana General Elk Hunt, the crew is up early and in the wall tent getting ready for opening morning. After breakfast, they hike to their glassing spots before first light. Before legal shooting light, Beau is already on a herd of elk with a nice bull in it.
He patiently waits for legal shooting light as he gets into position. The elk are now at 40 yards. Finally the clocks turns and Beau takes a great shot on a nice bull elk. The rest of the herd runs off as Beau gets to walk up to and tag his bull before butchering and quartering his elk.
In the meantime, Randy and Lucas spot a herd of elk as well. Unfortunately, another hunter bumps the herd and they spook before Randy or Lucas can get into position.
Beau takes his elk back to camp to grab the llamas to pack his elk back to camp. Randy continues to glass as he imitates the Vikings quarterback and shares his theory on the correlation between elk killing and llamas. They spot another herd a long ways off before heading back to camp.
