I didn't plan on making this video until after I installed the bedstep. So my apologies. It was a little tricky so this should help.
Two things to note: FIRST, I used an 18 volt Ryobi 1/2" impact driver to remove the two large 19mm sockets. Without this I don't know if it could be undone by hand. SECOND, I am not sure I had to replace the factory Toyota bracket with the one supplied with the step. The only reason I can think of, is to allow the nuts and bolts to eastern properly. My factory steel bumper bracket seems a little more heavy duty than the one supplied. If you don't have to change this bracket, the installation will be a lot easier. So it's worth a try.
Recall notice: I found out that this bedstep can only be installed if the bumper support recall fix have already been performed. My 2018 Tundra was not affected by this. The recall was up to the 2017 models. It was because the bumper support bracket was "resin/plastic" and not steel. The resin bracket was prone to damage and could collapse if the bumper was stepped on. The fix was a steel replacement bracket. So I am wondering if the reason I had to swap the brackets was because the instruction manual assumed I had a resin bracket and not steel. I am just guessing. GOOD LUCK EVERYONE.
