My heart is hurting. I just found out. Ron could be 'salty', but he was one hell of a guy.. Not sure if there will ever be a auto-rotation competition like this again. We all can have, and have danced with the best... Mark Conroy and Bill Meader were some of the best ever.. Oh, and Ron.. The REAL Ice Man...

Sorry to hear you closed shop. I think I bought a few parts from you back in late 2000's. You had a lot of great info that taught me about some of the parts. It's too bad the new gen don't care about rcheli, which require mastering 3 skills: mechanics/electronics, sim training, and field flying. Remember it was mostly guys in 40's who built up the hobby back then, when brushless motors/lipo's/gyro's revolutionized the hobby. We learned everything on the internet and bought parts from shops like yours. However, the industry seemed to keep pushing newer unnecessary electronics/mechanisms(DFC, 3 ax gyro & Goblins) that really didn't help average pilot. Industry also pushed "highly skilled" pros(who got free stuff) to showoff their piroflips to the new gen kids, who all thought they could just bind/fly. Nope. Just crashed them and for a few $$$$ more get a "self-flying" multi-rotor. Keep on.

Hey Ron! Great to hear from you! Is there a market for used helicopters anymore? Can you even find parts for them? I have a few Trex; 500, 600, & 700. 500 is a electric. Seems like the drones have taken over. I've been out of the helis for a little while but would like to get going again AND would like to sell one or two. Thanks, Scott B.
@ronlund1953

Scott, you should be able to find Trex parts unless they are really old models. It's a buyer's market for used helicopters. Good luck and be safe.

hey Ron, im one of your old timer costomer from FL. anyway, i need your help. can you tell me in general w/c version 1.0 thru 5.0 of align 3gx is the best to use. i tried ver. 5.0 but it has servos hick up and tail servo slide to the left. as always thx.
@ronlund1953

Herman, use the version that works for you. Some things to try before you revert back. Make sure you start with a default model in the transmitter with the trims at center, then go through the complete setup from there. The tail servo sounds like it isn't perfectly centered in rate mode. Be sure you do that with any version. Then adjust the length of the control rod while it's in rate mode.
