Thanks for saving me money. I'm not in college anymore, but I still use my iPad to take notes and learn new languages. My only issue is battery, and it's not like I can't just charge my iPad since I already work from home

You're welcome! Glad to hear you found it helpful. 😊 Hmm, surprising! Curious to hear what your battery is like? Mine is still pretty good, though I do dock it on my desk and use it as a side-car, charging it almost all the time. 😅 (side note, i too use it for note-taking and drawing almost exclusively)

@@mintmindy if you're by a charger all day, I don't think you'll notice lol. I just watch videos or twitch streams through the day so I end up having to plug it in after a couple hours

So I got the M4 13 inch 1TB for myself since I am a heavy user and it’s crucial for work so I wanted to get the best I could, BUT for most the M2 is a killer option. Got an 11 inch M2 iPad Pro with an Apple Pencil for my girlfriend for a little over $700 and it’s been amazing for her uni note taking and honing in on her art skills.

Great choice! Sounds like a productivity beast! I personally love the Pro so much because of the 120Hz display. Your girlfriend's setup sounds perfect for uni and art!

My 2018 was perfectly fine, but notice a lot of tabs reloading and apps as well…due to ram, unable to use adobe apps was huge…plus I hated it space grey…so finally got my m4 11 and loving it…expensive hell yeah but as an iPad fanboy since day 1 it is just extraordinary machine.

HMMM.... I actually do notice my 2018 slowing down just a bit, but not enough to justify a new purchase (for me). But the M4 11 is definitely AMAZING. I love it. If I had the budget, I'd 100% upgrade! Enjoy your new iPad! 😄

I needed to upgrade my 2017 iPad Pro 10.5” to a newer one. Seeing both the M2 and M4, I found I like the heavier M2 better and it was $200+ cheaper (512GB models compared) buying at Costco so I chose that one. Will use this M2 for the next seven years.

The new mini was a let down. I went from my 2018 iPad Pro 11in 256GB to the 2021 iPad mini 256GB to now the 2024 iPad Pro 11in 256GB. (The original switch was cuz I stopped using the iPad Pro for school work and mainly as a gaming/streaming/reading device which is why I went mini. Loved being able to put it into pockets and my 3L slings.) but this new 2024 mini didn’t produce a huge change of upgrades and thus why I’m going back to the 11in - plus the want to use FCP.

Thank you for the really informative video! I am upgrading from the Ipad Air 4. I almost got the M2 Pro but I ended up returning it since it wasn't enough of a discount from getting M4, not including having to upgrade the accessories. That is the part that is really hard to deal with for me. But hopefully I will use them for many years to come and it will be worth it!

I just "upgraded" my ancient 2015 iPad Pro 12.9 to the 2018 12.9. Its a major upgrade for me. I mainly use is it for music in Garageband and watching vids I'm not a power user with it. My 2015 iPad Pro is still kicking too it just refuses to die (don't ask about battery life lol) my daughter inherited it and still uses it. But its stuck on iOS 16 and the battery life is pretty non existent so I was ready move up but I didn't wanna pay iPad Pro M4 money. I'll probably upgrade to the M4 iPad somewhere around 2030 lol.

The only reason I've even considered upgrading from my 2018 is because its the 64gb ver. I've prefered the ipad for travel and mobile computing even without the magic keyboard for many years now even though the limitations of ipad os have been frustrating. Now that photo and video files are getting so much larger, I'm forced to upgrade and confronted with this major debate between the m2 and m4. As I plan to have this device for another 6+ years, I think I've finally decided to treat myself to the m4. Especially considering it's my laptop replacement, I'd like to take advantage of all the new features and with the hope that apple improves the ui experinece with the introduction of m4 (despite the wwdc outcome) I'm choosing the "future proof" option

Great question! I love using Freeform on both my iPad and Mac for note-taking and ideating because Freeform is free and the iCloud sync is super fast. I sketch out my ideas and draw mindmaps on the iPad, then switch to my Mac to type everything out. Plus, thanks to Apple's Continuity feature, I can easily copy something from my Mac and paste it on my iPad (and vice versa). This really helps streamline my workflow!

If you're considering the M2 iPad Pro, it's definitely a solid choice. Personally, I don't mind the lack of an OLED screen since I don't watch a lot of content on it. I mainly use it to complement my MacBook Pro for note-taking, sketching, drawing on Procreate, FaceTime, and occasionally watching videos. The main screen difference between the M2 and M4 is the OLED display. If you're on a budget, the M2 iPad Pro is more than enough with its 120Hz display, which I love. The only reasons I'd consider the M4 iPad Pro are its lighter weight, the new Apple Pencil Pro features, and the updated Magic Keyboard. If these features are important to you, it might be worth taking a second look at the M4 iPad Pro.

@@mintmindy would the iPad Pro m2 11inch still be good for content consumption you think ? It’s about 400 dolllars difference in price, is the oled worth that ?
