Have the 3.5l ecoboost with 230k miles and just now had to replace a turbo. First problem with this truck period. That's pretty good in my opinion.

2018 2.7 EB turbo owner here, been over a year and not one single problem, yet lol. Love the power and torque. Fuel mileage is awesome for a truck. Got it in shadow black, crew cab, 2wd, STX with the 3.73 Axle. Absolutely love my truck, best everyday driver. Takes the kids to school, me to work, pick them up, take them to wrestling practice and grocery shopping everyday. Racked up 20k miles and so far so good. We'll see if the engine blows up soon like everyone says it will. Lol.

I got the 5.0L V8 for simplicity and yes; it sounds really nice. I plan on keeping this for a very very long time. So, I figured that this the best engine package to get.

Let’s be happy that they still even sell the V8. They don’t have V8 Ford Expeditions anymore

The 2.7 is amazing. I have an 18 with it and the 2.55 rear end. I dont tow anything. I recently went on a 4.5k mile road trip, kids and camping gear onboard, and averaged 22mpg, hand calculated, and I have a lead foot. It powered up every mountain like it was cruising down a flat road. And it has the quickest stock 0 to 60.

Smh...and here I am rolling in a 2013 F150 5.0 4x4, leveled on 20 inch rims and 305/55s with a Super 44 exhaust. 76,000 miles and counting. No issues whatsoever. Bought the truck used with 35k miles. 😉

There is a dealer in Ga. that includes a lifetime power train warranty on every trk. they sell. So if you really want the twin turbo its one less thing to worry about as the miles rack up.

Loved my 5.0's that i have owned, until 2018 when they matted to 5.0 to the 10 speed and all of a sudden there were oil consumption issues. Ford wanted to replace everything from heads, motor , and the final fix was a "longer dipstick and almost 2 more quarts of oil. Not for me, unloaded it and got the 2019 Limited, with the raptor motor, while i still do not like the way it sounds i can out pull and out run any truck out there. wish they would fix the oil issue.

The numbers on the 3.5 EcoBoost are impressive, but I'd be concerned about long term reliability if you were really doing some serious hauling or towing with it. The fuel economy ratings are virtually the same; in my mind, a naturally aspirated V8 just sounds more reliable. I don't know, maybe it's just in my head.
