The reason you love this bike so much, despite it costing more, is what I like to call the Honda difference. Their bikes are always the most expensive for their class, but you can only feel that difference when you ride it. Yes, I am a total Honda fanboy.

Exactly its an i4. Even though it's "tuned" to provide more low end power than the RR, you still have to give it the beans in order to get it to open up. I love the character of the honda i4s like this; very gentlemanly around town but scary once you make it scream.

I have one of these bikes in the UK. I have the plus model that has the quick shifter and it makes the gear changes so much more exciting. It loves to try and wheelie as you gun it through 1st and 2nd. I agree with other comments about the exhaust and it is one of the things that I would change on the bike. If you have a chance to ride one find a twisty back road to find out what the bike can really do, it is where the bike comes to life.

bit late, but still. Got the new CB1000R Black Edition. It has the quickshifter+blipper attached and also just feels great overall. I really like the build quality, the sound, the engine, etc. I think they adjusted the mapping of the engine, so it doesn´t have this slight torque plateau at 5-6k rpm anymore. Also the updated TFT screen looks nice, tho i´m kinda pissed they didn´t add android car/navigational features into it. It just has indicating arrows for navigation, but you can´t display a map.
