It's an excellent supersport bike, given the price you get MotoGP derived technology, reliability, and hi-tech parts.

Standard riding position is shifted very forward meaning numb wrists and sore lower back. However, forward lean is very comfortable & smooth esp the low wind drag.

You said it right brother. You never master a bike because the bike will show you otherwise. always respect the bike. Ride safe!!

Below 7k, you get a quick, city riding bike practically a quicker spinning CBR500R. Above that, it's a powerful pulling but smooth supersport. However, don't expect the rapid low to mid range acceleration of middleweight or liter+ sport bike.

The bike is loud even with the stock exhaust and front intake is very droney at highway cruising; it's just the I/E engineering structure: you want performance, you gotta deal with the air flow noise.

Badass bike man! I just got one too and I love it! I got a saddleman gel seat and it totally changed the amount of time I can ride pain free.

The factory fill GN4 petroleum oil makes shifting during the break-in really bad. Temps also constantly rise even in 40 degree weather.

Really that makes a lot of sense. After i did the first oil change the bike seems a lot smoother now

I’m an older returning rider. Learned 30 years ago (on a Suzuki 1100 of all things) and been riding a CBR500 for 6 months- as well as a little Super Cub. I want this as a 3rd bike but it’s intimidating. I mainly just want to ride it around town and admire its looks. Think I can handle this beast??
@Shadow505

I think so since you have been on the CBR500 for that long. Just take it easy on the throttle in the beginning

You're always "on" or in an aggressive riding mode w/ the 600RR; you can't enjoy the ride like a cruiser or standard so be sure that you want a supersport. If not, get the CBR650R. It's the more balanced 600 sportbike.

I changed my exhaust to the toce from TST. I feel a lot of heat in stop and go traffic. Please let me know if you experience this after you change the exhaust and what your fix is. I was thinking about getting this silver tape and hope it reflects the heat
