4x4 whitetail buck passed up during Minnesota's 2019 first firearm season in southeast Minnesota on 11/11/2019. Temperature was well below zero degrees F with wind chill.
Excellent job passing that deer .. he will be a real trophy next year. Congrats man to a real hunter

Thank you Tilley. I have been blessed with a freezer full of meat this year already, so I'm in no rush to fill my tag. More just wanting to be out spending time with family enjoying God's creation. I am also very blessed to have a great place to hunt where there is a possibility of getting some giant deer. When I go hunting public land "out west" my standards certainly change since it can be much more difficult to find animals, let alone big ones!

To each their own but to classify trophy hunters as “real” hunters is laughable. Real hunters hunt for meat!

Real hunters are any hunters who hunt ethically and legally. This can include trophy hunters, meat hunters, and hunters just wanting to get out in nature...or whatever other reason may bring them out there. I am a combo of all of the above. If I were out there solely for meat I would probably need to hunt for less than an hour each year.

A hunter that consumes the animal he/she shoots legally and ethically is a real hunter! Strangely enough if the need to help with any wild life management issues arises its the Hunters who volunteer first, while your kind is NOWHERE to be seen!

If it's public land, I would have tag him.

For sure. This was on private land, but I would likely take this buck on public as well (though I do know there are some giants roaming around on the public land too).

11/11/19 is the same day I shot my biggest buck. This one would have been hard to pass, but will be a stud next year if he makes it.

@@benjilk sure was a nice one but as my hunting crew would say when we shot one like that “ in 2 or 3 years he would be a hell of a buck” good video an good luck who knows you might get another chance at him!!!!

Saw the title and watched and waited for something to happen. I could have seen the same thing on Animal Planet.

Not sure why you would expect anything different from the title. Over 90% of the time, hunting just involves watching wildlife.

@@benjilk you are correct but I do believe most guys want to see more. My problem is that I'm like a little kid that constantly wants to be entertained.

Caution to all deer hunters. This is a deer watching video even though it says deer hunting. City Slickers get deer hunting and deer watching mixed up
