In this video, Jim Jasinski, OSU Dept. of Extension and IPM Program, talks about the 2019 hybrid trial results. The goal of this trial is to show growers 27 different hybrids available on the market (small, medium, and large orange fruit; white, warty, pink, various winter squash, etc.) that might be suitable for growing in their own operations in future years. Most of the hybrids are powdery mildew tolerant in keeping with the principles of IPM. Most of each hybrid plot is treated with a fungicide program alternating Procure and Quintec, and there is an untreated section to show the genetic resistance of the hybrids alone. Brooke Beam, Highland County Extension educator, performed most of the videography and editing.
