Great vid again Harry. I went into Silverstone’s online site AFTER the auction to see how the cars had sold...... interesting, it seems there has indeed been a bit of a ‘correction’ in the industry since the heat of 2-3 years ago. A 74% sales rate for this auction, several did well, such as the featured black Mercedes SLR (£188k), MB Gullwing (£832.5k), the Lancia Integrale (£63.5k) the RS500 in blue / white (£170k), the red Porsche 928 (£67.5k), the black 911 Turbo (£92k) and the pretty little AC Aceca (£101k). Biggest surprise for me was a 1967 Fiat Dino Spider, not on Harry’s list, that made £94.5k. Harry’s non-sellers included the Kawasaki H2 bike, the black Sierra RS500, the Maserati Bora, and the Metro 6R4. Maybe as the world sinks into reducing interest rates again it’ll tempt the ‘investors’ back into the market - God help us 🤦🏻♂️

This is such a quality video Harry , packed full of information. You are incredibly knowledgeable . It shows me that in order to owner and run one of these classic vehicles everything is bespoke and one needs to be prepared to spend a fortune if / when they breakdown. As long as the owner is prepared for this then they offer exclusivity. The danger is buying one of these and not realising just how much they cost to keep on the road. Truely great video Harry. I will watch it again just to take it in !

Mercedes used successive letters for its 300 to differentiate between successive improvements within the model W186. Thus, the first 300 (historians like to add an "a" after 300) was followed by the 300b, which was followed by the 300c, which was followed by the 300d (W189). Each sub-model was available in a variety of body types like limousine, coupé and cabriolet.

From the no ‘reserve collection’, does anyone know how much the 1991 Ferrari Testarossa went for? It was a 15.000 miler, with a guide of around 90.000 English pounds. Harry mentioned that the Testarossa prices have come down from peak prices with around 20-30.000 English pounds. It’s not a great situation when classic car investment in general is better than anything any bank can offer, and better than hedge funds et al.
