Is speed twin suitable for Indian roads considering the weight of the bike, alloy wheels and pot holes (as we have many during rain). I don't have any bike with alloy wheels so not sure if such heavy bikes with alloys will be suitable for long run.
@RideWithRahulOfficial

Most bikes have alloys these days it's relatively much more safer than spoke wheels

I will be trying out one of these very soon, I was about to get the new Thruxton R a couple of years ago because I got so hyped by all the reviews on youtube calling it modern bike with classic lines but when I tried it out it was a big an heavy letdown. It did not feel anything like a modern bike when the road got a bit technical. Maybe this new version the Speed twin will feel better.
@RideWithRahulOfficial
5 жыл бұрын
Why dont you try the Speed triple?
@Pillokun
5 жыл бұрын
@@RideWithRahulOfficial I had the d675 from 2010 and spd triple R when I tried it in 2014 feelt heavy as well, well if you compare to st3, mt09, sd790, sd1290r, monster, and so on so spd3 is not may fav either even if it was better than the thruxton r.
@RideWithRahulOfficial
5 жыл бұрын
This is still a retro bike, it won't be as sharp as those super nakeds or Duke 790 type sports bikes.
@Pillokun
5 жыл бұрын
@@RideWithRahulOfficial Well I know that now, but all those reviews made it sound like it was as good as any other bike out there, I did not expect it to be as sharp as say a st3 because of the weight but a bike is a bike after all the bmw rt 1100 and cb1100 felt very modern in their handling. I mean the new Thruxton felt older than the bike I took my license on, the Bandit 600 mk1. About retro bikes, I really liked the old air/oil cooled Bonneville, it felt like a big moped, so I really thought that new thruxton R really was something like a modern bike but with classic lines and it did not help that the reviews said that but in reality it is a big muscle bike like the old cb1300, suzuki 1400 and kawaski 1200.
@RideWithRahulOfficial

is it good for off roading not as adventure bike like tiger 800 but can we manage it off roading? tiger is expensive but more less range we getting 1200cc so is it better for long rides and little bit of offroading?

I dont understand this.. We have BMW S1000 RR producing like 207 HP and nearly 100Nm of peak torque with 999 cc engine displacement full stock..No turbo or superchargers... And here we have a 1200 cc bike just barely crossing the torque number(which it obviously will cause its a twin and the bmw is an inline4) and generating less than half the power...I just dont understand..Where those extra 200cc goes..Plz explain dada..I am soo confused..
@RideWithRahulOfficial
5 жыл бұрын
There is S1000rr which is 4 cylinder 1000cc making close to 200 hp but even in 1000cc ninja 1000 making 150 hp. This is mainly how engines are designed and tuned. Cc is just one factor, there are several other features, such as no of cylinders, valve configuration and mainly the way it was designed. Triumph's own 765cc triple cylinder makes more power than this. In India Thunderbird 350 makes 26 hp but Duke 390 with 373.2 cc engine makes 44 hp.

No, you have far more capable tourers from the Triumph lineup like the Tiger or even the Street Triple S, if you want to do highway touring. This bike has a smaller fuel tank and I would not prefer to tour on this.

How will the power delivery of this bike compare with the Z900?
@RideWithRahulOfficial
5 жыл бұрын
The main difference is the strong low end torque and those bikes are stronger on the upper end of rev limiter whereas this closes out at 8000 RPM.
@theurbanhippies5944
5 жыл бұрын
@@RideWithRahulOfficial thanks, so how does that power translate in real life, would you say that thd speed twin accelerates harder and is punchier, but that the z900 has a better top end?
@RideWithRahulOfficial
5 жыл бұрын
@@theurbanhippies5944 its hard to say because 0-100 times have to compared and the final time depends on spocket size and gearing ratios, I felt it was faster in 0-100 timings but hard to be sure without a side by side test. Also in top end this loses out, that was evident. Twin has better brakes than z900. I feel the Ducati Monster 821 is quickest in 0-100 among these 3 though.
