Update on the LasFit LED Switchback turn signal bulbs. NO BUENO!!! They did not work! And they cost more than twice as much as the JDM Astar bulbs. I actually went through three different manufacturers and they either hyperflashed, or they didn't work at all. So, I bought myself a set of the JDM Astar bulbs. Now, I have turn signal lighting for miles! Good job on finding these bulbs, fellas. Turned out to be the only ones that worked and were less than half the price!!!

My tundra was my every day driver for 3 1/2 years I got about 17 miles per gallon and put on about 100,000 miles they do eat brakes and they do eat tires. No other problems the V8 developed a slight rattle at 100,000 miles but when I traded and I still got the money I need to get out of it won’t be going back to Toyota for a while since the MPG’s just don’t work with my commute the new ones are going to cost an arm and a leg and a firstborn.

Great video, I don't own a Tundra, but dreaming. I really like the truck, but MPG matters to me because I drive A LOT. Can't wait for the Tundra redesign, the Tesla Cybertruck, and new F150 electric the next few years are going to be exciting.
@AndreiDoroftei
4 жыл бұрын
thank you. MPG is not as big of a difference as one thinks... my tundra gets a solid average of 15mpg ... a hybrid version will get lets say 5mpg better on average ...over 15,000 miles in a year thats $475 savings at $1.75 per gallon ... it will never make sense to buy at a $10,000 premium to save $40 per month in gas savings... hope that makes sense. i bought a hybrid 8 years ago and still have not made the money back in gas savings over a similar non hybrid.
@timquinn465
4 жыл бұрын
@@AndreiDoroftei You are right, in places where gas prices are relatively cheap MPG not a huge difference. In the past the hybrid technology in trucks never really worked well they would only get maybe 1-2 MPG better than the standard truck engines. I wouldn't recommend hybrid for full size trucks, just get the simpler regular engine, less things to go wrong and maintain. I have a Honda Pilot now which gets 25MPG overall and going to a 15MPG Tundra for me would cost an extra $1400 per year @$3.50/gal, plus in CA they tack on a weight based fee to registration because it is a truck (a commercial vehicle), which applies to any body on frame. Right now I just haul bikes and family so don't need anything too crazy. If I get a camper trailer it would be nice to get a truck. The Tundra is a solid truck and for people who keep their vehicles longer than 10 years there is a reason why people buy Toyota or Honda. I showed my daughters your video and they like watching your son driving around the parking lot LOL.

Another great video you crazy Texans! Love my 2019 Tundra Platinum CrewMax as well. Just got back from a round trip from Calgary, Alberta to Phoenix, AZ. It was very smooth and comfortable to drive. On the way back from AZ I drove 25 hours straight (non-stop) home with very little fatigue or cramping just like you said. My son loved having the back seat all to himself as there is tons of room back there. (Although my wife kicked him to the front seat for a few hours so she could have a nice nap). Hit several spots of wacky weather on the way home but the truck performed fantastic! My average gas mileage for the two week trip was 18.4 MPG. I kept the cruise control at 78MPH most of the way except when the weather forced me to slow down.

11k miles in 1 year?!?! What?! I bought my 2019 ford raptor brand new in March of 2019 and I already have 23k miles! Lol. Man, no truck comes close the the Raptor’s performance. I smoke Tundras, Rebels, etc. When I go off roading, all of the jeeps, all Toyotas, etc have to pull to the side to let me pass because my truck can go faster off road. Raptor even gets better MPG than the Tundra. Tundra would be my second choice if I couldn’t get a Raptor. Looks badass. Performance wise, no truck is touching the Raptor. And I got it for cheap too. $55,840 Base MSRP for 2019 Ford Raptor Super Crew (4 door) (800A package) $3,855 Total of Options -17-inch Forged Aluminum Bead-Lock Capable Wheels .. -4.10 front axle with TORSEN® Differential .. -bed divider .. -bed-liner spray in .. -remote start system .. -Tailgate Step with Tailgate Lift Assist .. $1,595 Destination Charges Price without taxes and license: $61,190 Price after Cali taxes and license: $67k and some change

I was waiting for a couple years for the v8. If they release a v8, I’ll trade mine in in a heartbeat. Or even if Toyota or any other brand makes something better than a Raptor, I’ll get that too but I don’t see any truck beating the Raptor any time soon other than that ugly ass Tesla.

As a person who learned the hard way, allow me to say any gas but full detergent gas like Shell or Chevron is a very bad idea. The engine is far too finely tuned. Knocking for crap gas is suppressed and you don't hear it but it robs your HP big time. The warranty also mentions the requirement of detergent gas. Cheap gas station 3rd tier gas doesn't have any detergent.
