Forks are compression (R) & rebound (L) adjustable. Shock is rebound & preload only. Basic units that'll show some very minor improvements if setup for sag and rider weight properly. The bounciness is less harsh. The quickshifter, clunky just like the transmission unless you're shifting above 7k rpm. Throttle response is slightly better than the 1st gen, but greatly improved with an ECU flash. But that engine and chassis are stonking!

Hi, Great review I love your videos! quick question tho between the z900 and the mt09 which bike would you say is better? which would you reccomend more ?
@thesighbored
4 жыл бұрын
After having a ride on both (even though it's a long time between), I think I would lean more towards this version MT-09, it has a better package with the QS, more torque, the seat height is not too low (as with the Z900, good for shorter people, not so much for average/tall people). Haven't seen the 2020 Z900 yet though.

I just bought myself Ninja 650 SE as upgrade from my z250sl.. But I still don't have the nerve to lane split like you did at the traffic light.. Still getting myself to get comfortable with the bike. Any tips for newly upgraded riders?
@thesighbored
4 жыл бұрын
I think you are doing it right.. Get used to the bike, it's weight, handling, throttle, size.. The more you ride the more comfortable you will be and your limits will slowly increase. If I myself don't filter that fast (got others that are even faster!) the most important thing is yourself, how confident you are & how alert you are to prepare and react to any sudden #champion drivers, I never try to faster than what I react or see ahead to. Congrats on your 650! Ride safe and safe ride!

very simple yet such a compact review, with a few jokes here and there. Just exactly what im hoping for in a Sighbored review :) and yes, that exhaust sounds like an earthquake haha a few questions : 1) how does it compares to Z900? 2) is the slipper clutch smoother than any that you have tested? 3) is it as scary as people deemed it ? does it really wants to wheelie all the time?
@thesighbored
4 жыл бұрын
1) The Z9 feels more smoother, the MT feels rougher because of the torque rush.. But overall package I feel the MT gives more added value.. 2) The slipper clutch was pretty smooth, I didn't want to try high rpm gear drops because it's a friend's bike but I didn't feel any jerky or popping.. 3) It only gets crazy if your wrist gets naughty, otherwise if you ride it normally I don't see it as uncontrollable.. Thanks for viewing!

Hi, I'm 5 foot height ladies consider using mt09. Izit okay utk usik the suspension to make the moto bit lower? And recommended place utk custom seat height?
@thesighbored
4 жыл бұрын
What's your inseam? My guess would be you could adjust the suspension but it will lower down slightly, maybe by a couple of cm. For more lowered you probably have to get a custom bracket made for rear shock, and lower the clamps on the front fork. Seat wise you can get it done at any seat/sofa refurbish shop, I don't have any shop to recommend. Lowering it by too much will affect handling, so take note.. You can watch my short rider video to see how the girl rider deals with tall bike. Can build technique & confidence to handling the bike.

The suspension is adjustable you can make some minor changes to suit your need.. The owner hasn't gotten any tuning kit yet, perhaps surveying in the MT-09 owner's group can get you more info on which tuning kit to get & cost..

You compared mt09 with z800 but ive seen you did the z900 review so i think it wouldve been better if you compare mt09 with z900
@thesighbored
4 жыл бұрын
You are right.. But primarily compared it to the weight & heaviness of the Z8.. Just for you my brief rundown between the Z9 & MT-09 is seat position, the Z9 feels too low, good for short people but others will feel it's too low and the bars feel high because you are seated low. Torque goes to the MT, quicker acceleration feel. Z9 suspension is much softer than this MT, getting more bounce from the Z9..

@thesighbored
4 жыл бұрын
I tried the Brutale quite some time ago.. From what I can recall.. The Brutale ran much hotter (can really feel the heat), power & acceleration wise, maybe the Brutale felt more raw, I remembered having to keep a tight hold onto the bars.. Haha..
