@starshipbocachica
4 жыл бұрын
It has an historical history dating back to Pirate trades and very early voyagers, aboriginal traditional fishing grounds, total wilderness right on the mexico border. The bird and shell finds are better. The reputation has drawn winter texans that favor isolation. I have some shipwreck items in my garden and folks love BC for the beachcombing most of all. I discussed with Elon the possibilities of the further northern SPI beach and he honestly didn't know about it, and I guessed it was that my public statements suggesting such in 2012 to 2015 was due to hush tactics that developers and land grabbers swayed the choice for the historical BC. Elon and I also discussed how BC beach could be accessed from the Port, and the end of hwy 4 could be the access for his offshore launch platform that he enjoyed talking about. I'm a captain so I really added my 2 cents. Elon and I really enjoyed that excitement, captain to captain of his starships. Some parts of that conversation have been brought back to life on the NSF channel. Andy and Mary could overhear some of the conversation as they stayed seated off to the side. So the beach really is important, and asked Elon if he would help with north beach access. But he didn't commit. But it is very doable.

Thank you for you broadcasts and helpful explanations. You are outdoors in a very windy environment so please do everything you can to help us hear them. Your voice is more audible now thanks to other subscribers having complained about not being able to understand your words. Can the sound of air (wind) blowing against your microphone be reduced, e.g., by buying a better microphone? Is it possible for you to turn up the volume so that we can better hear your words? Holding the mike closer to your mouth, speaking more clearly and shouting instead of mumbling your words may help.

Maria: Your take on the water rising issue is that the complex's massive weights are actually squeezing the water out of the ground? Very interesting. I'm certain Cape Canaveral had the same issues way-back-when, too.
@starshipbocachica
4 жыл бұрын
Yes they did big time. The E.I.S. studies estimated with the compression of build weight and the forces of ocean and underground water table, the hydrology study said it would raise water tables into Brownsville proper. Before we moved we saw ducks landing in our backyard right after the launch site was constructed. It is a fragile ecosystem that has to be well designed. Can't bore for underground lake storage, as the water table is just 4 ft now. Paving and compacted parking lots add to the loss of vitally needed perking and leaching. I see them raising the ground levels through the years. I always thought of other solutions back in the day before SpaceX.

Could you add the subtitles button again, please? I can't understand you at all. Talking with music playing and/or with vehicles driving right by you renders your commentary incomprehensible. Called SpaceX and said I will be filming faces and would not distract. Safety was my concern as fist women in maritime I found concentration being broken or distractions were dangerous. Mary was filming through the fence and SpaceX asked me not to do that, said it was distracting. I never had to. I'll give a short wave off and turn to release the fear of being on camera. But you would not believe how many guys want in my shots!! I had a real ham that would wave to me when filming out my bedroom window!!! Elon was amused at what all I filmed.

Hi David! It's the house with the garage. You can see it at the very end of this video after the copyright notices. A good friend and lawyer from Dallas had the A-frames as a vacation home. We used to do coyote calls back and forth across the fields back before SpaceX came between us. It tore him up with the loss of his wildlife. He wouldn't even kill his bees that built hives next to house. I'll do a video of inside the A-frame, and the Villa, as I have his permission to air it now.

What could be more important to the survival of mankind than Elon's mission to provide a backup planet, and to keep our earth as habitable as possible despite people who are willing to destroy the environment that makes life possible whenever profitable? I am even willing to sacrifice my enjoyment of socializing on a beach if it helps Elon to accomplish his noble goals. I doubt that the Federal government allows people to use the beaches at Cape Canaveral. Elon is probably spending millions of dollars every day whether or not a few beach goers allow his crews to work. I would not vote for a politician who allows a few people to impede Elon's progress by using the beach next to his launch pads.
