If your in love with the Specialized Turbo Levo consider chainging the front fork to a DVO Onyx 160mm and have them tune it for you and a DVO Topaz and consider going to 2.5mm longer rear stroke and change the tires to a Maxxis of your favorite flavor and that bike becomes flat out awesome. Also if you shorten the cranks to Miranda 155 or 150 it gets another step better. Just saying... Now I have to try the Trek Rail and a couple more...

Hey Guys, great series and very informative for those of us who are in the market. Just curious though, your vibe seemed a lot lower on the trail bikes than the enduro bikes. Great review boys! Waited for this review to buy my first ebike. Question... How does the Sight VLT ride compared to the non E version of the Sight 29 (which you rode previously too) Does it ride different? Have the same negatives? I have a Mondraker Foxy 29 (which You reviewed previous) and I am not scared of the longer bikes. I need a long reach being 6’6” and debating between the sight Vlt or the kenevo, and interested in the Sight 29 for my new pedal bike.
@TheLoamWolf
4 жыл бұрын
Thanks very much Ryan. Honored to hear you waited to pull the trigger until you watched this. Weight is the biggest difference, but the geometry and overall "stance" if you will, is similar. If you like that longer, slacker new-school feel and it works on your terrain, then you will like it. As we tried to explain, if you ride flatter trails, or lots of tight terrain, switchbacks, they are both a bit long for OUR style of playful/poppy riding. At 6'6", you may well have a different experience and like it. I think it's pretty clear the Sight is great for the terrain it was designed for. The Kenevo is a super rad and very fun bike everywhere! It may however, be a bit short for you, but check out the Reach numbers and see what you think. Happy hunting!

I am having a hard time choosing between Trek Rail 9 or Trek Rail 9.7, can I know your opinion on this matter? Carbon or Aluminum, can you help me plesss? Thank you
@halln86
3 жыл бұрын
The motor and frame design are the big benefits of the Rail. We love their carbon as it is strong and light, but we can't blame you for needing to spend a little less cash. The aluminum 9.7 is still a killer bike with just a little weight penalty that we would be stoked riding in any terrain. Many of our daily drivers are aluminum and it isn't holding us back.

Hi there and nice report. I am in a quandary. Although they aren’t in the same category,which one would you say is best all rounder, Orbea Wild or Trek Rail? I own a Sight VLT2 27,5. Thanks
@TheLoamWolf
4 жыл бұрын
Great band! Although they're not in the same "category" in our videos, they are pretty dang close bikes honestly. We love both of them, obviously as they've won our awards... To better steer you though, we'd want to ask your local terrain/riding style, what do you wish the VLT 27.5 did better? What do you love about it? Long short, the Orbea is a softer, more plush bike, slightly more poppy and playful as well. Little bit steeper geo/shorter reach.Hopefully that helps. We would be stoked to have either one as our go-to bike.
@mocktender6430
4 жыл бұрын
DeVinci started off the test with a Shimano motor- which you listed on the screen and at the conclusion in the round table it was the Bosch Motor that really made this bike. DeVinci only lists Shimano. So is the DC GX a good bike with the Shimano or only with the special Bosch you guys imagined?
@TAZMON20
4 жыл бұрын
As always, excellent content, I would argue that giving category winners only adds to customer confusion, you're more or less telling us that we need 2 or 3 bikes in order to enjoy every trail, a far simpler conclusion would be to have category winners that consumers can actually understand, not everyone is well versed in e-bikes so encouraging more people to indulge in the sport would be beneficial to a wider audience, personally I thing that, Good, Better, Best is far easier to understand if you also consider price points and specification of the build, of course for all the dentists out there you could also include a "Luxe" category where money is no object.
@TheLoamWolf
4 жыл бұрын
Haha. Thanks Gavin, we do think focusing some energy on a more affordable set of ebikes would be a good idea. Stay tuned on that. Our whole idea for the categories is that Good, Better, Best doesn't actually work for everyone. What is the best for a rider in British Columbia, is going to be way different than what's best for a rider in Phoenix, which is different than a rider in Texas. That doesn't mean we can't improve, but the goal with categories is to better inform riders about what's best for their riding style and terrain. The Trek Rail will be the best at the most types of trails, whereas the Norco Sight can be the best for super aggressive riders or people with open, high-speed trails, but is not the right bike for Palm Springs tech, Phoenix tech, or riders with switchbacks. I hope that helps clarify a bit?? Thank you for watching and your input and ideas.

Great video and material guys! A couple of suggestions for the future: 1) Don't all wear sunglasses. In viewer terms this really disconnects you and basically hides your face and character. Eyes matter, this is video basics. 2) Put a list of all tested bikes in the video description text along with the time stamp that they start so we can see at a glance what is covered and where in the video if we need to see something specific quickly. But parks are fun, with 200-250m downhill sessions of all kinds of diamond ratings. No flow tracks whatsoever. Dirt roads can become extreme enduro difficulty on motorbikes and mountain bikes, so if you know where to go, then you can have fun on "just dirt roads" too.... I can have a full battery emptied on the local dirt roads and in 2-3-4 hours I will probably see 2-3 cars/bikes and great views. :) Wind is clean and if you have a lot of it, it is a good source of juice. Solar is expensive and almost no one does battery banks. Only grid tie, so I didn't do it. So .. yep ... I did a little surfing when I moved here, but I am a land-rat :) I like dirt bikes, speed bikes, mountain bikes, pedelecs ... anything that goes on mountains and has wheels :) ..... I found myself being annoyed sitting out there on the sun, waiting for a thrill that lasts a few seconds :) ... I did a lot of scuba though. One side is deep and cold and you see big stuff, the other is warm and shallow and you see colourful stuff :) ..... but that's gone since we popped kids out :( ..... biking remains ... :)

thank you so much for the bike porn...i've wanted to see this match up for sooo long. totally agree about Bulls. i got a Bulls EVO AM 4 and yep-- it came with a stupidly long stem. I just switched it out without any problem (but mine was a 2019 model). i got it b/c it offered the most bike for the money and the Brose-S motor was outstanding (not impressed by Bosch at all)

Hey thanks for watching. We actually like the new Gen 4 Bosch system a lot. All our testers were big fans of they drive unit. Glad to hear you customized your bike to suit your style a bit better. Happy shredding.

Hey. I stopped watching after the RM Instinct was reviewed and yet pulled from contention. Why? You seemed to like it.

If you would have watched for a minute longer you would have heard why. And yes, we did like it very much.

How can I trust a review given by someone that uses Murray’s pomade? That stuff is basically Vaseline with cinnamon.

Have you had a chance to test the 2020 Kona Remote 160? If you have, I'm curious how it compares to the Trek Rail and Devinci ...I know it's 160 travel - which is longer than the other bikes in this category; but the geometry is similar - and like a few in this test, it sports a 160mm fork; and can be run with teh stock 27.5 plus or 29...
