@@lockheedloadhe’s not saying fake as in not from ford. Fake as in the exhaust tips aren’t attached to the actual exhaust. That’s why the smoke doesn’t come out the exhaust but from under it. Lots of manufacturers do this now where they attach the tips to the bumper and the exhaust stops just short of it and is bent down. They do it to make the tips fit/match the style of the car

Since this video the turbos were replaced as they we found to be leaking. The Valve cover/PCV was replaced as it was leaking. And now it’s in for a new long block as it has a documented history of continued oil consumption. So it’s not “cold start smoke”

That's burning oil. and it's possibly coming from a defective seal in one of the turbos. What's happening here is oil was inside the turbine housing while the car was off. During cold start the obvious happens; the oil burns up in the hot exhaust and causes smoke.

Get this fixed while under warranty!!!!! If you let this go too long, you'll eventually have a waste gate malfunction and the thing will be in limp mode.

If it's not the turbo, it may be a bad valve guide seal. That kind of smoking happened to me on really cold days with a Ford Escort that I had some years ago.

That happened to my explorer and the found it was the seals in the turbo. It was a lease and I still had a year left so the let me out early and got my ford explorer st.

Something to do with turbos. A lot of twin turbo v6 trucks are doing that right now. F150, Silverado, tundra and any other suv or car that might share same platforms

That white/water/humidity followed by bluish blowby smoke from oil typical of Turbo charged engines. Get a catch can and you should be all white i. Days like you had that day and on cold starts.

Yes its been where the turbos are located and there oil system they went a different route with the 3.0 then they had with the 3.5 and as long as they are not on an incline they seem to preform very but on an incline they have had issues same with some audi and most subaru's

It's just a normal cold start, Ford does this to heat up the engine to operating temperature, It's pretty normal as it does the same for my Explorer ST.

could be turbo related, a failed gasket somewhere in the engine causing the excessive smoke, or maybe too much oil was used, too high of a air/gas mixture happening, engine could need to be rebuilt, coolant leak could’ve happened and damaged the engine a bit, a failed EGR cooler,

My Fusion did the same and started having power failures and basically needed a new engine. I hate Ecoboost cars now. Also, my friends Malibu ecoboost did the same!.

My 21 is in shop now for this. Using coolant at 50000 miles. They scoped engine and number 2 cylinder has scoring. Pulled my engine. I'll check back in after they tear motor down.

Simple $40 oil analysis can tell you a lot about engine condition. But these engines are known for heavy fuel dilution which is the number one reason for turbo failures and short engine life

Get some oil catch cans those motors produce a lot of oil vapour that gets redirected into the intake I bet there’s a little pool of oil in the charge pipes if you take it off and check

Stop parking on an incline will help. Happens to turbo cars when always left on inclines take it from someone who grew up in San Fran huge problem and being a mechanic ill tell you oil sets on those seals for turbos and kills them every time

Might happen to ford turbo cars. My driveway is an incline and my turbo vehicles never have had an issue. Except for my wife’s Explorer st, of course.

My 2021 only does this on a cold start and only smokes on the drivers side. Ford has not been able to replicate and say it could be moisture. Lol.

My Mexican dealership said the same thing, mine only smokes on cold start and as long as I don’t baby it. Eco mode seems to not smoke at all in comparison. Guessing its related to the turbo.

Coolant and oil is fine on my side, only happens on a cold start and if I am not using eco mode. Pushing it in manual sports mode gives me much more smoke the next day than normal mode does. Eco mode has not shown signs of smoke.
