Really, I'm not a big fan of giving penalties. But this move from Herta 0:30 (forcing a driver off the track creating a pile-up) should be a drive-thru.

Well, i would say it´s a combination of errors. Herta pushed Ferrucci of track, that should have been a penalty, then Ferrucci did not try to avoid going back on track wich resulted in two chrashed competitors. This was correctly penalized. I think the problem is lack of respect both for the rules and for other competitors. It´s a shame.

@@Kei.sssssswwwwwwwwwmmm Maybe, but we will never know because he didn´t try wich in my view (and Indy´s) is why he was penalized. He obviously didn´t try to crash Rosenqvist and Palou but it was the result of him trying to get back on track in full traffic. Check out Pagenauds spinn in the first race. He waited for clear track before resuming race. That´s how it´s supposed to be done.

0:58 Watch the brain dead corner workers who are there to PROTECT the drivers. The yellow flagger is a zombie watching the accident and then he realizes, "Oh yeah, I need to wave the yellow flag." That, is a good example of the types of Volunteers they get and the training they receive. "As long as we wave the flag eventually, we have done our job." I've been watching them and working with them since the 60's and that is the norm. "We showed up, what more do you want from us?"
@StarkRaven59

The flag was out within one to two seconds of the crash entering their area of responsibility. Sure, pretty slow, but not worth crucifying them over. I'm pretty sure station 5 starts at the top of the hill, so most of the crash happens in station 4 to boot.
@JB91710

@@StarkRaven59 I have been watching corner workers since 1968 and was one. They have responsibilities other than to put on the whites and show up. They have to imagine what the drivers need to see and when and give it to them. They have to know how to hold and wave the flag so the driver can actually see it. 99.99% don't even know that. They learn how to use an extinguisher while a car is burning. They have no plans ahead of time for how they will perform given different accidents. Some of these clowns don't even hold the yellow flag in their hands. They have to walk over to it and then to the spot they have to use it. Their "Leaders" have no clue what the JOB is either.
