I do not know the guy and I do not care about football as a game. I only enjoy throwing hail Mary's at the parks as I am old. But looking at NFL and Division I successful quaterback records, majority has a 2-1 touchdown to interception ratio like this person. In my high school 2002-2006 and college 2006-2010 years. A great/perfect quarterback statistic would be averaging 300 yards and 3 touchdowns per game. An overall 3 (TD) to 1 (INT) is great and 2 (TD) to 1 (INT) is good. As a Bama fan, Guarantano is my favorite Tennessee QB ever. In the 2019 game when they were at rhe Bama one yard line, instead of handing off to his fullback like he should have, the idiot calls his own number, attempts a dive and fumbles. Trevon Diggs promptly returns it for 100 yards scoop and score. Way Bama was getting gushed on defense rhat day, and score there for them probably changes the game completely and more than likely would have won jt. Because up till then, Bama was not stopping them.

I investigated further and according to online sources, Guarantano passed for 6,174 yards with 38 touchdowns and 17 interceptions in 41 games with the Vols. That's not bad! There is no quaterback with an X (TD) to 0 (INT) perfect ratio.

Current issues with the Tennessee football program makes poor quarterback play seem somewhat inconsequential. He wasn’t good but he was better than the program deserved. Tennessee won’t need a good quarterback for a while since they are going to be on probation. They haven’t won too many games but they are going to have to vacate what few they did win. Fat boy Fulmer got just what he deserves and Tennessee got what they deserve for re-hiring him.

@@stephenhembree4615 The fault does not 100% go to him. He has all the heart and courage in the world for sure. I will never take that away from him. He simply could not understand or make quick decisions as plays were happening. This probably has more to do with the lack of development from his coaches, but unfortunately he was the one on the field. I certainly am not attacking him as a person. Far from it. He’s a better athlete than I could ever dream of being. He simply did not possess the skills that an SEC caliber quarterback has to have in order to lead their team to a successful season.
