We currently have our JL pcm unlock/tuner/tune/bypass cable bundle on special for $645.99, normally priced at 870.99. we do offer an 87 octane tune but these respond far better to 91+ octane it usually ends up paying for itself but using the better fuel it becomes far more efficient.

Since the ECU has the capability to adapt, is that something that needs be be enabled? My question is for example, if I simply increase the octane would I see any gains? Are the knock sensors very sensitive and add or remove timing as needed?
@LivernoisMotorsports
11 ай бұрын
it can adapt to compensate for some difference, but it's reactive. Meaning it has to have a problem first, before it tries to correct the problem. Leaving a chance for issues.. So running higher octane fuel than the tune is made for won't really add power, but won't hurt anything, but lower could be an issue. It is only adaptive for ethanol content, not octane, once we tune it.

Hey, maybe I missed something in there somewhere...can you tell me how it's a gain of 55 pounds torque when the graph shows 210 for the lowest run and 230 for the highest run?
@LivernoisMotorsports
3 жыл бұрын
most of the gains on these happen before and after peak power, which matters far more than just the single data point for "peak". If you look at the torque curve, the stock curve falls off dramatically, while ours carries all the way to the limiter, so you have gains throughout the entire RPM range. That is where the power and torque comes from.
@이정우0812
3 жыл бұрын
@@LivernoisMotorsports while I understand total area under the curve gained is far more important (as well as rev limits being raised with adjustments to allow a continued rise in torque production), I feel that it’s a bit deceptive to the average joe who has no idea what they’re looking at when reading a dyno graph for you to just say +55 tq!!!!!!! I saw that and said wow that’s quite the gain, then I paused the video and studied the graph to see that it isn’t really a 55 pound gain overall and was very disappointed that many people who don’t know better would think they’re getting something they weren’t. That said, it’s still very impressive what you’ve done and I’d be quite happy to pay for that. 😃
@LivernoisMotorsports
3 жыл бұрын
@@이정우0812 we would have a counterpoint to say that more people would feel the large gain everywhere in a more meaningful way, than just something in a small range. One of the biggest complaints we hear on the 3.6 is it's very peaky in terms of power, this makes it so that it has great power throughout the entire range.
@이정우0812
3 жыл бұрын
@@LivernoisMotorsports yes, your counterpoint is exactly the first thing I said in that last reply. Total area under the curve gained is far more important [than a single point gained]. Once again, it was impressive that you pulled so much out all over and I, like the other sheep you mention, would be totally happy with the power all over the complete rev range (total area gained under the curve). The reality is that newer engines are designed to be as efficient and power dense as they can, often making them so that they should be ran on high octane fuels, but since the masses won't put premium in vehicles (often even those that "recommend" premium) they have to pull power back a great deal to make it "safe" on low octane fuel. The positive aspect of this is it allows us to get greater gains when we tune them for higher octane fuel.
@mauricedavis2905
4 жыл бұрын
