I think I might buy one, this or the Ducati V4S Street Fighter, which would you buy & why?

I have ridden both back to back, both are excellent bikes with fantastic chassis. If you like top end rush, go for the SFV4. If you like low end torque, go for the SDR. I ordered the SDR because it suits my riding style of using high gears better.

Been riding on the street since 1980,every few years or less I would purchase the best new Kawasaki had to offer, now I have as my touring bike 2008 ZX-14 turbocharged fully done Ohlins, carbon rims, 330mm rotors, and so much more a bike that I'll never sell! Two weekends I finally had my 2020 1290 R delivered, my first ride was twice around the block and had put away due raining. I began thinking overnight buyers remorse, it Chung at off idle, with a bit of vibration in the footpegs. Then 2 nights ago I finally had a really good assessment on this bike not going above 4500rpm, remember it now has grand total of 51 kilometers/30 miles. Now I can tell that am big guy comfort amazing better than my ZX-14, I can tell this bike wants and needs to be rode like you stole it, lol. More gas I gave it, the bikes vibration pretty well disappeared. It's so light, goes in corner's like I was riding back 20 year's ago effortless. I was up to 118 kilometers the wind wasn't all that bad, Cruse control was a new experience funny that you can just rest your right arm. Overall now at 56 year's old, I got myself a true road warrior, that I can easily keep up or past the best sport bikes, without being mentally and physically fatigue after a good one hour blast. It sure is a keeper to me, the suspension is as good if not better than Ohlins, it really rides over not so brutal roads as like being on touring bike. The only dislike, is the clutch twice at the start stalled her, it's bit weird grabs at very end. The other, it's dead quiet. Just purchased Austin slip-on for now, next year full Akrapovic system and lithium battery we are below 400 pounds! Get one, you will not regret it. 🇨🇦

So I told my Missus that I either wanted this or the new S1000XR. She was stoked I chose this because it’s $6k cheaper. LOL. Plus my dealer is doing the electronic unlocks for free and sells a few little Addons at a hefty discount. Putting my deposit on a brand spanker as soon as my tax cheque comes back! Can’t friggin wait!

Haoran Wu it’s a great riding position for commuting, and is super tractable the challenge will be having the self control to not want to blast it too often. 😀

If you fit full akro exhaust and map the indicators will become inactive, to stop you using system on the road

Peter Webster I heard rumours about that, hopefully someone comes up with a dongle that will allow the full Akra to be fitted and still have indicators that work.

On my wanty wanty list. With Rona I think there’s going to be a lot of bikes just sitting in showrooms for at least the next 2-3 years though

I've got a 2015 SDR. I'd have to agree that one of the worst things about it is the chuggyness of those big cylinders below certain revs. They don't even run smooth at 60 km/h in 4th gear, which is a bit unacceptable. However mine was stalling a lot on take off recently, so I took it to the dealership who uploaded some new software (they said). Now it runs a lot better, pulls smoothly from 2500 rpm now, happy to cruise at 60 km/h in 4th, and even makes the gearbox shift better/easier. They obviously come out running way too lean. I'm thinking I'd like a new one though.

Just purchased one last week, best bike I've ever owned! At the first 5 minutes of riding, kind of had buyer's remorse, had put away due to rain. Two nights ago I rode it for just over hour, this begs to be ridden hard the better it gets. Comfort is outstanding, forget sport bikes this is the new sport bikes for the real road. I can't bring over 4000 rpm, each time I would take off fast and shift into second the wheel was up a foot, I weigh well over 260 pounds at 6'1" no cramps what so ever after my first true ride. Now am having late dinner, going for ride near country rodes around 11 pm see how good lighting is. If you can truly ride one for your or so, you'll buy it, lol.

I've been riding only Kawasaki's since my first Street bike H1 500,till now 2016 H2. Yes am going be a trader,this is exactly what I've been looking for since my ZX-14. The looks have grown on me, massive low rpm torque, comfort, and looks like I can get mental, but still keeping you riding with great electronics package. My only gripe is with such competition in this class, KTM should of offered the total electronic package like the new zH2. Just one question how is it with vibration, I've been told only when giving full high rpm throttle, how she like say cruising at 75 mph? 🇨🇦

Ross it is much smoother than the previous generation and really nice around that 75mph mark. It’s not going to be as smooth as a 4 cylinder but I don’t think you are going to hear may people complain about vibrations on this weapon.

Does it have the quick shifter and auto blipper?
@FraserSteve
4 жыл бұрын
Danny Wywias Jr It is an option- it’s part of the bike but you need the dealer to enter a KTM code to unlock it - basically a profit exercise- it does work as good as any bikes I have ridden and needs the quick shift to get the most out of it

@@FraserSteve Which is a joke really for the price you pay, could never work that one out. I have the 790 Duke which has quick shifter & auto blipper as standard for half the price!
