On my list for my 2020 XP4 1K... Buddy put them on his '16 XP4 1K and likes them. Meantime, I cranked the snot out of the nuts to get my ride height back. It's a PITA to have to limit ground clearance to fit in the garage! Have fun!

Nice work. Good video. What are you using for the editing software? Also, how tall in your garage door?

Thank you! It’s movie studio 17 platinum. It’s been a while since I measured the opening but it’s probably a touch over 6ft.

How did you get the front shocks off? Did you have to tear the whole front end apart?

For this particular project I pulled all the plastic off. Since then we don’t do that anymore, we use a right angle impact to get the top bolts.

Did it improve ride quality any? Does it effect body roll in a good or bad way? I enjoy both slow technical stuff and fast trail riding so both clearance and body roll are important for me.
@SomewhatHaggard
2 жыл бұрын
It improved ride quality for sure, I was bottoming out a lot. Both pro xp’s on the channel had lost the ride height so this was the quick cheap fix. I think it added some body roll, but I was used to driving it on the sagging suspension. I don’t remember the exact numbers but both machines were well under the factory ride height. Overall it helped with ride height and bottoming out on everything, but did add some body roll (not a crazy amount though). I guess it really depends on how much one would want spend. I’m sure a full set of dual rate springs is the best option and these are fine budget option to restore ride height. Personally I wasn’t happy with the sagging suspension and couldn’t afford a full spring set up.

Thanks for watching! This video was shot a while ago, so I’m not 100% certain but the tires generally sit at 10 to 12 psi.

@@SomewhatHaggard Understand, but you could have aired the tires down to get it out of the garage easier Lower it down to like 5 lbs back it out and then reinflate them.

@@rvlebeau haha sorry I thought you were just talking tire pressure in general. I forgot about the garage part. You're right about that, it was my back up plan if it really wouldn't fit out the door. I just let it go as is to help show the difference the springs made.

I don’t think it seems harsher, definitely stiffer. But I was bottoming out and and had lost my ride height. I definitely like how it rides.

How has those springs held up?
@joshward4473

Also what did they run ya?
@SomewhatHaggard
2 жыл бұрын
They’re holding up ok. We have to adjust them a couple times to restore the ride height on the walker evans machine in this video. The other pro xp on the channel has the same tender springs but his machine has the fox live valve and I don’t think we ever had to adjust those after initially getting them set. I believe they were 250 bucks. A full spring set up is probably the best way to go , which is my plan sometime down the line. The tenders are kind of a band aid fix, but they are a cheaper way to restore ride height.
