They do quite a few patterns with this material. I think it is the best simulated "Stag" they have done to this point so far. Thanks My Friend! 🙏✌️

Thanks Pete, I'll do a little clean-up at the bottom part of the shield. That should be good enough. You need some Cinnamon Bone Stag! maybe they have a Canoe or something. Cheers My Friend!

Amazing the way even a small knife like this can look really good. I’m sure that’s jigged bone, but the dye and jigging on this whole series looks great. I’d have some, but they are expensive. I’m with you on the tarty big R bolster. Smaller and simpler bolsters would let the bone really sing.

Nice looking little knife. They used the Acorn shield on the Outdoorsman series. That's the first time I've seen that series. Looks like bone jigged to look like stag, but they did a great job on it.

I need to order some more cinnamon sticks. Interesting that it was the acorn shield that hooked your interest, hope the surgery on the bone goes well. Enjoyed reading the comments on dremmels.

Hey Stone! After chatting with Chris, I checked the website for this discount tool store in town. www.harborfreight.com/rotary-tool-kit-80-pc-63235.html And of course at that price, who could say no. I read alot of the reviews before heading up there & everyone seemed generally happy with it. I just returned home with my very own. It is small but very easy to control, setting up for surgery now!😂 Yes, that acorn shield together with the cinnamon bone stag was a winning combo in my book. Let's see what happens!😟 I'll show the mod tomorrow with the last tiny toothpick in my set, The Marbles version. These knives are pretty much useless, but I think they are so cool...Judging from the amount of views, not everyone agrees with me.😂🤣😂

It's a cool knife. I've eyed a few of the other Cinnamon Bone Stag knives they've released. They definitely need to stop putting that "R" on their bolsters. It would look so much better without that nonsense. The acorn shield is a nice touch and the covers look great.

Thanks Ryan, Well, I guess I'm not the only one who can do without the "R"! I don't think many other knife makers billboard the bolsters like Rough Ryder. But I do like the Cinnamon stag & Black & Blue series knives. They're doing some good stuff. Take Care My Friend!✌️

Hello. Very good looking. IF, it is stained bone and you carve around the shield you might end up with a white ring around the shield. Is that real damascus or just an acid etched pattern? Whatever it is. I like it. All the best.
@Warthogg1

Hi Rhino, You're probably right, I'll try to carve out the little part covering the shield at the bottom & leave the "ripple" alone. It looks to be real Damascus steel - I think it can be done inexpensively with an automated process now, when it's done by hand, it's very time consuming which would naturally increase the price. Cheers!

I was so happy to see the acorn back, but I suspect that it's bone. I think that you should have a go at modding it (wear a mask!). 🤞 This series arrived in Europe before the US, but man are they expensive here (maybe that's why they're not on SMKW?), so I elected to pass. 💸 Great to see a review, the series isn't getting much press. Thanks Rick. 👍

It's crazy that they are so expensive over there Ivancho, You would think the European dealers would buy enough in bulk as to be able to discount the price for everyone. I'm getting geared up to do the mod on this knife tonight. I want that darn acorn to show prominently!😂 All the best my friend 👍

@@Warthogg1 Probably the dealers figure that people will pay more for Damascus. Kind of like how carbon steel can cost more. 🤔 It's no big deal for me though as like plain old shiny stainless steel. Be good. 😜👍

Wow! I like the bone stag, I must have a look to see what else RR are doing in it. If you are good with a Dremel you could probably grind and repolish to expose the acorn.

@@Warthogg1 I used to have the normal dremel but found it was too clunky so I bought a tiny bench grinder that has a flexi attachment that uses the dremel bits similar to a Foredom, it has taken me a few years to get to be good with it, been using it today. My mate is 70 in a few weeks so I have made him a Scandi style baby hunting knife, used a Polar made blade from Brisa and used a cow shin bone and brass to make the handle, today was the hardest bit making the wooden liner for the sheath, the blade needs to fit perfectly otherwise it will rattle, 4 hours to shape two tiny pieces of wood and glue them together. But I am really happy with it, next is a 'Dangler' sheath with the liner glued in. I'd say it took me a good 4 years to get here.

Wow! That's awesome! Sounds like you have more patience than I do. Your mate is lucky to have such a caring friend to put so much time & effort into a gift. I'm sure his landmark 70th birthday will be very special for him. All I can say to you is "way to go my friend!", very class act. Let me know how it goes when he opens up that box!🤘😁 I have seen the smaller "craft" dremel's with the flex attachment & smaller bits. It may be something I'll want to get. I'm planning on retiring in a few years & I'm going to need a "work with my hands" hobby to keep me busy. I get very fidgety & can't sit around without accomplishing something for long.😂 All the best my friend 👍

'Bone Stag' or 'Stag Bone' is never stag of any kind - that'd be like selling solid gold and describing it as gold-plated. If it's genuine stag antler, the maker/seller can be expected to describe it as such, as it's more expensive than cattlebone and is a selling point. The trickier one, however, is when something is simply described as 'Stag'. That might be either stag or bone - or even acrylic! 'Genuine Stag' should mean it's the real thing, but I'd still want to check to be certain. 'Sambar Stag' (as GEC labels much of theirs) seems a reliable assurance that it's genuine stag antler, as Sambar is the sub-species of deer the material came from. Nothing inherently wrong with bonestag of course - it's just a way of jigging and colouring a bit of cattlebone - but wouldn't it be better if it were called 'Stag-Jigged Bone', for example? That's a pretty RR though - the Damascus is a sign of SMKW trying to extend the RR brand into more premium sectors of the market - just wait until those first Rough Ryder Reserve models arrive!
