Changes from 2017 to 2020 for the base gsxr1000. Quick shifter is standard and revisions to the front disc for less fade. Dash is fine and does not need to be changed. When your using the bike it is so compact that it disappears from underneath you. Modes: C mode reduces torque and hp across all revs,B mode 100%torque and fueling tapers off right before the engines VVT is engaged, A mode 100% everything. Traction 10-5 wheelie control is engaged and 4-off: no wheelie control.

why would you anybody be upset about having so many levels of traction control? just means you can tailor it to your preference of intensity either all on all off or middle of the road or middle between 1 and 5 etc or for a somebody that loves to do track days they can turn it all off and go wild the user adjustability seems really cool so that you dont have to compromise on an bike and can set it to how you want to ride it and how much traction control you want.

This video describe suzuki motorcycle so well, On paper they are very inferior to other brands and don't have the flash of fancy looking electronics, but as people ride them they just work so well you get excited like Chase did by 15-20 min in. Personally that is the appeal of suzuki, second-hand they are so affordable compared to other brands and they work amazing, you just have to not be concerned with having all the latest and greatest tech that every company fights over

It may have been said before, but that low RPM assist, while great for beginners, is also nice for everyone who rides in traffic. At the end of a long day, in stop and go traffic (assuming you don't filter or can't) it will save you from a zoned out moment and stall. I'm going to ride this one tomorrow at a demo event, could be a replacement for my SV-650 -- this or the new GSX-S-1000. As for the dash, Suzuki is the working man's bike, plus they make what they want (see 2020 Katana with K5 and a thimble-sized gas tank).

@@Chris-ij8tb you're looking at it from purely just a number on price which i get at 14.7k. But if you compare it to its direct competitors its the "bargain bike". OK, here’s what I’ve noticed now that I have watched motorcycle review videos for some time. Whenever a veteran reviewer takes out a supersport bike there often is primal screams and other sounds of delight and pure bliss - seriously. No other type of bike seems to elicit such emotional responses - for what it’s worth.
@juniormin3454

I closed the video after about 9 minutes of watching and can't resist myself to come back and comment. Suzuki EASY START is for "push button start" means you don't need to press and hold the start button until it fires up like you did, you just push it once and the engine will take care itself. The idle-up device you talked about is LOW RPM ASSIST. Plus I'm not a fan of tft dash and remember every feature costs money, GSX-R is probably the cheapest and most value for money 1000cc bike in out there and it's awesome especially the R model, so keep you narrow mind

It can be done. It's a ridiculous old wives tale that "everyone has to start on a 250, you'll die on a 600-1k if it's your first bike!!!" 🙄 I know LOADS of riders who started on litre bikes, and they're still around, never even crashed. It's the 18-23 year old BOYS who this rule should apply to. THEY probably would kill themselves on a 1k. But older mature, grown ass men? They can handle it.

@@berseli5783 Actually you'll learn alot more on a 1k. It takes far more skill to operate a litre bike. It's easy to ride a 600. But your first time opening up the throttle on a 1k will humble you reeeaaaall fast and teach you everything NOT to do, and quickly. It's sink or swim. The 600s are far more forgiving to rider error.

Wow. To be completely honest, after watching this I think my second bike will eventually be a gsxr 1000. I just got my Ninja 400 a month ago and I’m loving it. Got it brand new which was a slight mistake because I did crash it within the first 100 miles on the twisties. Only damage was the fairing being scratched up. But I have about 300 miles on now, riding it to work and back a few times a week and taking it out on the weekends. I’m really enjoying myself and I think I made the right choice going with a sport bike. I love going fast and leaning over. I have good clutch control but terrible throttle control, so I would absolutely appreciate C mode. I really like the sounds of this GSXR. That being said, I will 100% be keeping my Ninja 400 for at least a year, getting as much practice as I can before switching to a 1000cc death machine. Hoping to get about 5-10 thousand miles out of the Ninja 400 before selling and upgrading. It would actually have a similar riding position to the Ninja because I’m 6’4 so I legitimately have to lean over like I’m on a moderately comfortable supersport already. If I ever have the opportunity to try out a 2020 model or newer, I’ll for sure do it IN C MODE lol. But yeah this bike just sounds like a phenomenal machine.

Saw one of the first ones in either late December '16-Jan'17 in New Zealand, wanted one then, but waited(Yamaha MT09 Tracer) now a whole range of accessories, including cruise control (very important for long European trips) is available, I'm back looking at these, nothing in that time has gotten my attention for comfort, style,reliability and above all,value! $400 adjustable bars,C/C, de-cat the mid-pipe,can, tail tidy and a flash, I'll have one! 2nd hand with 2.5-4k miles, under £10k, for around £11k, same in the 'R' version, which comes with £5000 forks and a better shock...worth the extra, especially with the Q/S(not on the older base model). I've went off the MotoGP blue, like the 'Stealth' or the '17 red one looks like the Benelli Tre Tornado head on(white is nice,just a bug cleaning problem). Good lot to chose from, buyer's market here, and the GSXR is still at the front on the Irish road racing scene...says a lot!

I prefer the old analog tach and simple cheap digital speed reading. But my buell x1 has damaging track and analog speedo and I prefer that to the display in this and feel like I wouldn't pay extra for a tft display every one goin to.

How much can one expect to pay for insurance per month on this type of bike, considering good driving record and good credit rating ?

I prefer smoothness as well. I'm just a beginner but we have a twitchy bike (2007, so no modes) and a smoother bike and I know which one I'd rather be on.

Suzuki is one of the greatest bike brands. Why are their products so rare?

cool video chase but one thing i noticed as you mentioned suzuki easy start that is literally starting the bike with a press of the start button instead of holding it with the clutch pulled in to start

Watched the 2018 Panigale V4S First ride just before this one and you had so much praise for it. How does the GSXR compare to it now, 2 years later?

Ok, mic placement? I image in the cheek pad like you showed a while ago, very clear even on the highway man! Yea that dash is very lacking in comparison to their competitors, even Kawasaki really stepped up their display game. Oh smoothness comes from you ;) Those rollers are fantastic, love the filming of this dude, quick question where do you go to get your car camera mounts??

8:32 I absolutely get why you'd say that because look at the S1kRR dash, holy hell. But i believe as long as it shows everything you need to know when you ride, it's fine if it's not a TFT.

Stupid question, but I’m starting to get into bikes. What would you recommend to get, as a first time rider?

Safely...a 300,400,500 preferably..a 650 since its kinda fast but not a rocket....BUT IF U DONT WANA WASTE MONEY take a 600 and take it easy.your gonna wana sell the smaller bikes in a month once u learn how to ride.

@@2wheelsonly614 I was thinking about getting a Yamaha R6 or something of similar. In your opinion, what’s better buying new or pre owned?
@2wheelsonly614

@@HowBadIsIT for your 1st bike just buy the CHEAPEST bike you can find literally just to learn.then sell it for what you want. Your probably gonna drop it anyway so dont get anything too nice.600s arent too crazy to learn but they are ALOT faster and more unforgiving than a 250-500

If i want a nice screen i’ll buy a phone. I like how Suzuki focuses on the bike itself. BMW does the exact opposite. The dash is amazing, the handling and the engine are great but the chassis is cheep and crappie... 22.000€ compared to 17.000€ I don’t know American prices but 5k difference and only the dash is worse... i mean that’s a great deal in my opinion!

Chase since you have never done a track day, you have to do Roebling road race way.... one of the best tracks "close " to you.... easy track to used to, and you definitly get faster as the more sessions you do that day, trust me you'll enjoy it.... hell I used to take my Busa there oc: i get what you're trying to get at but the rider inputs make the bike twitchy or smooth, sure there are bike that have smoother power deliveries or better setups when you hit the brakes, but in reality it all about you inputs to the controls..... think about it with all the electronic rider aid that are on bikes now days.... do the help good to great riders on the track, sure with out question. But those same aids also help bad riders. Heck I remember when all of the bikes didnt have that stuff and you better of been smooth with your inputs or you got into real trouble. And if you are smooth you are always faster, that is a proven fact on just about every racetrack ever.
