I bought the rebel for my wife and she works at great clips. She was using magic clips for a long time proximately 10 years she would use them until they were completely worn out. When she tried to use the rebels, she didn’t like the way they cut. She said that it leaves a checkered pattern that took more strokes to remove something she didn’t have a problem with using the magic clips. I recently switched the blade on the Rebel for her to the fade blade. I also bought her a gold magic clip and she says she loves those after one day of use already. I’m not trying to dismiss gamma or style craft. She had been saying how much she need a new clippers and we just didn’t have the money and then I spent around 170 for the style crafts plus around 40 for a new blade. One more thing I’d like to say about the style craft cutting blades is they feel like aluminum and they don’t feel like solid forged steel like the wahl blades.

Yooo listen everyone!! Get the Rebel with the deep tooth Wahl Wedge back blade. Take your cutting blade out and add some celophane folded 4xs to the hole where it connects to the plastic base and it will reduce the sound by 50%. Dont sleep on the Stylecraft Rebel. I own almost all the popular machines and this one has more power than the senior cordless.

Use these on some nappy black heads....that's a real test. The clippers that I'll say are the best are babyliss....they cut a lot of hair in 1 flick and do so fast....I have a Wahl and babyliss....Wahl has its uses but babyliss gives you the cleanest stroke on the first flick compared to Wahl where you have to flick like 4 times to get that same quality which means a slower cut.

Since Gamma X Ergo and Gamma Power Ryde are the clippers I can get where I live, I am really, really curious how would you rate their power and bulk removal in comparison to Senior and Rebel? Is X Ergo as powerful as Senior and Rebel (or even more)? Is Power Ryde, since corded, the most powerful of them, and best at bulk removal? And, sorry if asking for too much, but if we put cord out of the equation, how would you rate power/bulk removal and blade on X Ergo vs Power Ryde? Thank you so much in advance, I absolutely love your reviews, hence asking here!
@onepriority626
2 жыл бұрын
The Power Ryde has a 6,500 strokes per minute vs Ergo X 10,000. Both clippers stock are not too great for bulk since they're magnetic motors and lack torque. One thing I did notice is if you put the new Gamma deep tooth cutting blade which just came out, it does a decent job with bulk. Want something with good torque? Get the Wahl Senior with Tomb 45 battery and a ceramic cutting blade with Wedge blade or JRL 2020.

theyre not bad but senior is superior besides being heavier, been using magic clip for 5 years too long and the issue is they lack power and for thick hair if you move too fast they struggle and have to pass the machine in an area multiple times, also its outdated when you stack it to 2022 clipper powerhouses that last wayyy longer 👍

Would the magic clippers w the cord be better? I’m in need of new clippers. I keep reading some say magic is better for ending and texture than the senior. Iv been using 40 dollar walls for a few years and figure it’s time for an upgrade. I personally don’t usually go for short blends but never really had an issue with bulk with my past clippers . I feel like I like the idea of a textured cut. On amazon people say the elite is the best for some reason

Battery life isn't too big of an issue. Since most people I know have more than one in the shop. In fact, I buy two of everything: scissors, clippers, trimmers… etc. They might not be the exact same, but I have at least two tools for any specific job. I can have them sent off for service/sharpened and still can use them; or if any tool fails and I have back up; I also alternate between my sets of tools from one client to the next, they do last longer. All my cutting tools have last more than ten years (I'm still using corded clippers and trimmers), so I'm just guessing with battery stuff and I might be talking out of my arse. Anyway, if you're alternating between clippers, you'd be charging one whilst using the other, which basically means your use time covers the whole work day. I typically finish a cut around 30 mins, half of which I'd be on the clippers, and the other half my trimmers and scissors. As long as the battery life is more than double that (>60 mins), I should be very safe, as every 15 mins of use time, there is 45 mins of charging. So performance is the only thing that matters. I'm really thinking of switching to cordless tools as every time we have new colleagues in the shop, they'd be tripping over my cords and sending my clippers to the floor. Looks like I'll going for the Rebel after watching a few of your videos. Thanks so much for your information.

Why doesn’t senior use crunch blade if it’s supposedly better
@Roughdraft214
22 күн бұрын
Seniors have a thinner blade which is best for skin fades, it cuts closer. You could add one. The blade kit is like $25-30 and you can turn any pair of clippers into Magic Clips essentially. The stagger tooth blade creates texture which can soften the lines on the blend down into the fade. The Legend has the crunch blade which I think is just there to help you hear the hair being cut so you can tell when you're taking some off. For a skin fade/fade blade you want closeness, not always texture there... I guess thats why they're separate clippers/blades?

I like Gamma and have a bunch of their tools. It seems to me that they could test the products more before they release them I have a 1st gen Ergo and while its great for fading it won't cut bulk. I know they resolved this with the Ergo X, but I'm stuck with a very limited use clipper. Same with the first gen alpha. I guess what Im saying is why do they have all these releases and then they have some majors flaws release an updated version some time later....i.e. Ergo, Ergo X, Alpha, New Aplha, Evo,Evo X, Ultimate Blade, Ultimate blade 2.0. This tells me that they are doing research at the end users expense. Although its great they actually listen to the consumer, ::Cough Cough..Andis:: Magic clips and seniors are tried and true, backed by awesome customer service. If you buy the senior you know it'll last for for the long haul and wahl will make it right if something happens.

The Rebel is amazing, really. I just hate that it ‘feels’ cheap. I personally don’t care for ‘lids’ and their guards are just okay, so they should focus on being the budget clipper. Sell cheap lids or whatever, but these should be $99. I oaid the same for my rebel as I did for my jrl and the jrl just ‘feels’ like a better machine. The Seniors ‘feel’ premium. I have a gamma protege and it’s great too but it should be $60 and the rebel $100. Keep the accessories, and if it breaks in a year or two, eh, it’s $99. The warranty is only good for a year anyway. The charger could be sold separate for $29, lids for $10, but the machine with Faper blade at $100 would make this a real go to. Theyre great but could be sold at a better price point.
