Fantastic model, maybe the best on the market. Lucky you to drive and run this beast.

Do you do your own maintenance...basic stuff like oil changes? How do you reset the maint meter or does that have to be done at the dealer? Thanks.
@fauveride
Жыл бұрын
Basically it was managed by the dealer. What does meter reset mean? If you're talking about the 1000km check icon popping up, that was also fixed by the dealer. Sorry for the late!

@@fauveride Your BMW has a maintenance light that comes on in your center speedometer console whenever your bike needs a factory recommended service. For instance an oil change is coming due. Or maybe an air filter change is coming due. Bottom line I do 90% of my own maintenance b/c I like to learn how my vehicles work and save a ton of money. The maintenance meter on your BMW can't be reset without the dealer doing it. That's a rip off! I saw bullshit....learn how to do basic stuff yourself. If the dealer is the only entity that can reset your maint meter...I wouldn't buy one. If I knew how to reset to meter that would be different. Or you would have to ride around with a maint light blinking at you.

I own the Classic version. Love it! One significant flaw. The windscreen is abhorrent. Horrific wind buffeting. Shame on the design engineer. Abysmal failure. However, there is a fix, at a very reasonable price. Clearview Shields (Fort Collins, Colorado). Multiple heights, widths, and curvature to redirect wind. Impressive design and material, and a great price.

That's really is, windscreen is kind of obstruction. Glad that you found a good substitute

All it needs is the Wunderlich extension. Works a treat

@@Jeff034 What really did the trick was adding lower fork deflectors from Memphis Shades . Quite a bit of the buffeting was coming from air from below.

Hi, I see you got the handlebar clamp risers, do you need to buy new clutch/brake lines? Or you just need to re-attach them with the metal extenders they provide along w/ the risers. Also, how do you now find the bike handling. Thank you.
@fauveride
Жыл бұрын
You saw it exactly. No new lines are needed, an extender is enough. The handling is very stable and the posture is comfortable. Have a good day!

Also...is there a passenger backrest and rear rack available? I love my r18classic...just need a new more comfortable seat front and back! Great fuel milage too but would love a larger fuel tank but not shaped like the dresser r18. Same shape as the one it comes with.

first of all, thanks, I sold it for about $20,000 at the time. However, since this is Korea, you should be aware that the value of a bike may vary from country to country.
