There are many ways to fasten ladder. Just need some brackets and pop rivets to the Bundutop. Otherwise to canopy can work. These are extreme conditions. Fine sand. Strong winds

Thanks for the great review phil, very informative and well presented, will be contacting Tough Touring next week to get a quote on the tent you have and the ostrich awning fitted to my Lexus LX 470, will also go for the solar panel on top. Love the simplicity of the set up, had a canvas rooftop tent on my last vehicle an 80 series, any thing above 30 degrees centigrade, was to hot to be in during the day. Just one thing mate you say your back is giving you trouble, if you could lose a bit of weight and strengthen your core it would help your back a lot, a weak core is one of the major causes of back problems. All the best mate and keep up the good work.

@chrissodafisho Bundutec has decided not to use midgee proof mesh for many reasons. Miidgee proof mesh is weak. Easy to damage. Midgee proof mesh stops air flow. The mesh on the Bundutop is strong. To keep midgees away from camp, I use various devices that detract them.

I will mount it to a Stockman Pod trailer and I’m not sure whether to mount directly to the bars as Brett Hooker has done with his Pod and JB RTT, for lower height and maybe easier access, due to lower height, or whether to have a frame fitted that would put the height similar to yours at car height. LG 385W Neon H Solar Panel. You can get them from Springers in Brisbane. You want a Victron smart controller 100/50 MPPT solar regulator
@PhilsCampingReviews

The Model Number of the panel is LG385N1C-E6. It’s a monocrystalline 1768 x 1042 x 40mm. Weighs 18.5kg. Open circuit voltage 42 volts. I’ve not seen it this far. But I reckon it will be the ideal panel for a Bundutop. Just make sure you attach it to an angle line and screw it down onto the edge of the bundutop.

@@Camh1968 I’m not aware of anyone using two solar panels on the Bundutop, I’ve only seen single solar panels mounted on top of the Bundutop and I’ve seen a few installs of late. All of them using a single high voltage household solar panel. Not sure if I mentioned or not. Use the Victron smart MPPT solar regulator. Either the 100/30 or the 100/50. I use the 100/50. 100 is the volts it can handle from solar panel, 50 is amps max it can charge your battery.

That, I’m still working out. So far at this stage I store in one of the either spots, depending if I’m solo or not. If solo I store on the front passenger seat. It actually fits in there. If I have others with me, I store at the back laying on top of my back seat over my gear stored in the back. Yesterday I was thinking about this and I reckon if I make up some type of frame on the hood of the Pajero I can slide it in there. That way it’s up high, out of the way.

Does this tent have midgee proof flyscreens?
@PhilsCampingReviews
3 жыл бұрын
No it does not. Bundutec decided against using Midgee proof flyscreen on there roof top tents because midgee proof flyscreen is not very durable. You only got to nip it with the zip and you have a hole. also using midgee proof flyscreen blocks the breeze and makes it a lot hotter inside. Fly screen mesh they use is very durable and allows a good air flow.
