LOL. What scares me is that cars produced to day are so over-engineered that they almost drive themselves. The average driver may not know how to really drive the car once they are in a dangerous situation. Maybe some of the technologies account for this. Give me a 71 VW with manual everything any day!

Have the AWD v6 in 300s for a few years and I love it, love driving it. It drives primary RWD, but AWD kicks in when weather conditions permit and when engaged in sport. its was 50k new, Got a very good steal on it used. Its a rare trim and dealer was not aware. Came with two luxury packages special installed fully loaded, some features that the more luxurious C trim doesn't even have, a black tri coat metallic paint that can only be purchased at the dealer. 8 speed version. Top of the line features that are in the luxurious trim and more put in the the S version. It has been very reliable, I'm expecting it to make it past 200,000 like my last 300. Just had a minor leak due to a defective part, but its part of owning a Chrysler product. 90000 miles, drives like it has 40,000. A lot of people who drive or own this car, do not speed in it.. or think its slow because its big. Or scared. its a very intimating car to drive. I've driven commercial trucks and even the last generation 300. I was a bit nervous when I first got in it to take it home. I had gotten soo used to driving a Toyota. Everyday driving this car is a learning curve. Its a monster if you can drive it to its capabilities, I burnt an Audi last week.. he saw me speeding, he tried to speed more... I bent a crazy corner off the exit, caught up to him at the light. Audi could not believe it. I could not believe it, a big ass boat that accelerates/handles this well! People sleep all the time! You compare it to the Japanese, their handing and steering is made for anyone/everyone to be able to drive their cars easily! The 300 is made to float, like a classic American car! That gives you a feeling of your own car driving you! And you are in full control! Selecting sport power steering on your indash settings will give you a tighter feel. Which i do. Its off by default. It helps a lot, but wont get you as tight as Japanese. You were also not a fan of sport mode, I also was not, but you haven't driven it long enough! or used in situations! I'm always in Sport now that I'm used to it! Its lagging cause its ready to go! You were off the gas when it was ready to shift.. Nice review i enjoyed it!

If you want fuel economy, comfortable ride, AWD and reasonably priced, go with the 300 in the V6. If you go with the V8, go with the Charger - ideally the 6.4. I have a 300s AWD V6 and though I love it, I wish I would have gone with a V8 Charger but ONLY because I like the rumble of a V8 and wanted to do a custom exhaust setup. However, the V6 300 is plenty fast and I rarely even get to use its full power anyway. I'm up to freeway speeds within just a few seconds anyway and rarely do I have the room to do much more. So deep down, think about what is going to make your car the most enjoyable for you to drive and follow that path. Hope you find something you love!

I like the "dated" styling myself. It looks like some of the older American semi-luxury sedans with V8s and RWD. It has a fully leather interior, a dual pane panoramic sunroof which is absolutely huge and back window sun shade screen which is usually on 55k+ cars and often times only ends up in high end luxury sedans and it only cost 44k for a fully loaded top of the line model which now got discontinued sadly so no more "C" trim. But lower end models are still nearly as nice and are much cheaper. This isn't a luxury sedan, just a normal full sizer like an Impala or Avalon so not meant to have a BMW or Mercedes quality interior.

Handling "precision" isn't the fault of the car, it's the fault of the driver. If you're not secure and safe driving a car with light power steering or steering play in the ratio that's cuz you're a poor driver.

Mechanical steering > drive by wire.
@Michael-qx8bz

Unfortunately your fingers have to write the dumb stuff your brain tells them to. The car doesn't have drive by wire steering lol. It has a mechanical steering shaft just like every other car in the world. The steering is assisted by an electric power steering module instead of your traditional belt driven power steering pump. Even if the electric motor fails will be the same as a power steering pump failure which will result in hard steering at low speeds. Drive by wire means there is no physical connection such as a throttle cable which is done by an electric signal instead. There will ALWAYS be a physical connection from the steering column to the rack which means there will always be mechanical steering.

Golly you just couldn’t get over the steering huh? When you’re driving a big heavy car like this. You don’t want that. You’ll be lurching all over the place. I have a S and when you put it in sport mode (dash button) the steering response changes quite a bit. High speeds it moves way to much to easily for me
