@@hikarupio Against this bike. Easy the Honda. The Honda is in a different class with it's stunning looks fit and finish. Oh and that single sided swing arm and those wheels. The list goes on. Don't get me wrong the Yam is a fun hooligan machine but it's looks, fit and finish just aren't there compared to this. I actually walked right past a new MT09 the other day and barely noticed it it was that unremarkable. This Honda though you notice it, big time. I test rode one and it handles really well and is seriously quick. It's more than enough for the road.

I have a cb300r, hope i can upgrade to this beauty by the end of the year. I love the black color looks so mean. I would definitely get the wheels powdercoated bronze or volt green for visibility but thats about it. Does it have rev matching? Does the front tire ever catch on those cracks on the freeway? On my cb300r I feel a bit uneasy when crossing them because the front tire wants to bite on to them but I assume it's because it's a smaller tire? What gloves are those? After a year of ownership, what are your thoughts? I'm 5' 7 too so this was a great review for that

I would have thought the new GSX-S1000 was brisker low down the rev range. Maybe I'm wrong. What do you think, Mark? One thing is certain is that this looks better. In fact, it is the best-looking naked litre-plus bike there is. Overall, I prefer big twins, but your top gear demos at low revs show the superior tractability of inline fours. I have only owned one. I’ve had mine for almost 3 months now and have put 7000 km on it, and I think it’s a great bike. It is a bit vibey, calm and composed below 6000 rpm and manic and aggressive above 6000. Build quality is top notch and it’s even nicer in person, I looked at the katana and gsxs but seeing the Honda in person sold it for me. It doesn’t have the hp that the real super nakeds have but it’s still a fast bike with great brakes and good suspension, especially the front end, rear shock has a bit of bounce but I’m 230 lbs.

@@markpulling12 I checked your back catalogue and it's not one you've ridden. Mind you I don't recall you riding and reviewing any cruiser types of bike. Just like the look of the Speedmaster and apparently it's quite good. I am not into cruiser bikes generally. But this one is different. Would be great if you could get hold of one. ATB.

A272 Mark, one of my favourite roads! This Black Edition looks seriously classy but the price has crept up a lot! I'm considering one of these or a GSX1000S, but could they tour as well?

Hi yes definitely...the engines are very relaxed for long distance riding...won't be super high speed because of lack of fairing and you should be able to fit luggage of some sort Best wishes mark

@@markpulling12 you confirm my thinking and let's be honest in the days of average speed cams in the UK the opportunity for long high speed runs are almost non-existent

@Blueyonder Moto I am a couple of weeks off 68 , I had a test ride, and I thought it was brilliant , have a kawasaki ninja 1000sx, which is a keeper I also have a triumph trident 660cc, which will be sold or part exchanged for either this or a kawasaki 900rs se. Which I am test riding in the next few days 😊

I fell in love with the old cb1000r when I test rode it more than 10 years ago. The new one looks so epic too. I worry it's too nice and I'd feel like I need to constantly keep it clean which is not practical for a commute bike or it'd just get stolen like what happened twice to my then 10 year old street triple. When I sat on the first iteration of the new CB1000R the seat felt a bit wide or square. Even just putting a leg down while imagining myself commuting was kind of painful and the inside of my leg hurt the next day. It'd probably be something that moulds to my use and that I harden off to but it was something I didn't anticipate. Made it feel kind of tall for me to sit on and unnatural with even a single leg down.

What a beauty! That engine...! I need to win the lotto before im too old! Id leave it in top gear and roll on from slow lane to third lane in 2 seconds, then slow down from the ton back to 70. Just to trick the speed cameras!
